r377ParticipantWhats your thoughts on Tyler Honeycutt ? He has been going as a late lottery pick in quite a few mock drafts. I just can’t see it, i am thinking more 17-22 range….

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantHe has all the tools to be a good Sg/sf/pf with time…my question to you is where would you draft an athletic, versatile wing player from a proven college system that has the potential to be a mixture of Josh Childress and Tayshuan Prince…I think he’s one of the biggest sleeper picks in the draft…I actually want him to drop to my Sixers in the 14 to 20 range, he’d be a good intangibles guy to add…he’d make trading Iguadola easier to deal with because Honeycutt provides that versatility and hustle you get from iggy in a sense…Honeycutt is under rated much like Love, Mbah Moute, Westbrook, Collison, Holiday….should I go on…Malcolm Lee, Reeves Nelson and Tyler Honeycutt could be products of Ben Howland’s slow tempo system…I would love to pick him up if I’m the Sixers with a top 16 pick, Trade Iguadola for a Center like Chris Kaman and early 2nd round pick, draft a guy like Renardo Sidney with hopes he can get his act together under veteran leadership like Elton Brand and Doug Collins…the Sixers would have a starting line up of Holiday/Turner/Young/Brand/Kaman with Williams/Meeks/Honeycutt/Speights/Hawes/Sidney and Nocioni on the bench…I think the size and skill of that core of bigs( Brand/Kaman/Speights/Hawes and Sidney) can be very useful to unselfish players like Jrue Holiday and Evan Turner… Thaddeus Young and Tyler Honeycutt are two talented sf’s that run the floor and provide versatility…Lou Williams and Jodie Meeks are two instant offense guys…just a thought…But Honeycutt is definitely under rated…

Quincey HodgesOne game he looks like a first round guy and the next he looks like a second rounder/camp invite. He needs to become more consistant but he does have the talent no doubt. Based on the recent UCLA players drafted he should get a first round look anyway since the recent players have performed well in the NBA

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantThe tools are there he’s just young and inconsistent, going to a veteran team would help him transition to the nba, he’d learn how become a harder worker and Excel as a role player….

Moon RiverParticipantPlease fall to the Bulls in the 2011 when they are using Charlotte’s pick in the 1st round.

iceman21ParticipantI really like him but, hes a gamble. I would love to see him drop to the bulls. I could see him being like Paul George last year where he had a good college year but blew up the draft boards once he worked out.

llperezgood: i love his potential and think it will translate well to the nba. NOt as a star or go to guy, but in a team concept. His jumper has nba range and looks very solid to the point where i think he can be a major three point threat in the nba. His rebounding and ability to protect the paint on defense is top notch for a sf. Great passer who almost never forces his own offense and willingly makes the extra pass. Still upside while still improving in every facet of the game
bad: while i really liked how he played out of conference, he has slowed considerably since th e start of conferenc eplay. He has the body language of a guy trying to fit in instead of dominate which leads to question if he even wants to come out after this season. While his ball handling has improved, he still is not great at taking guys off the dribble or creating his own offense consistenly getting most his points off threes and put acks around the rim.
overall he might not be dominating, which i never expected him to do, but his overall skill set and potential to go with a great team first attitude should have him going lottery.

llperezyou guys should all tune into UCLA vs St Johns tommorow at 10am to watch the game to see him for yourself. It will be a big game. Steve Lavin returning to UCLA. New York vs Los ANgeles. And its a big game for bubble purposes too. UCLA is at 15-7 right now and after st johns they play 5 straight games against weak teams so they could really make a run at improving their resume.
