So theres a wild market right now for veteran point guards and were already seeing pieces shift in Conley to Utah. A couple teams are looking for vet point guards being the Suns, Pacers, Magic, Bulls and I would even throw in potentially the Celtics with Kyrie on the way out. All of these teams have some trade-able assets and some cap space to definitely make moves. Some of the potentially available point guards right now or that may be during the season are rumored to be Chris Paul, Jrue Holiday, and John Wall. Holiday will probably be the most sought after because hes the youngest and has the lowest cap hold of the three. So I wanted to throw out two curve ball trades for Wall and Paul consider I think the Pelicans might try to hold on to Holiday right now considering he seems like a pretty hot commodity and also that he said he prefers to stick at the 2 guard position. So here are my two trade ideas and honestly I think either one of these players could be interchange-able in these two trades.

Chris Paul to the Suns for TJ Warren, Josh Jackson, Tyler Johnson, and the 6th pick.

This one is dependant on Johnson’s player option and honestly I think its possible this couldve happened already if he opted in which is highly expected. Paul would be able to fit in with Booker, Ayton, and their wings being able to play defense and on and off ball offense. He could really open them up as a 3rd potential star while the rockets would get a solid 3-D player in Warren, an expiring contract, and two potential plays as well as being out from Pauls kind of meh contract.

John Wall to the Celtics for Gordon Heyward.

I would really like this one if the Celtics were able to sign somebody like Wall’s buddy Boogie which would provide Wall with spacing as a potential stretch center. Pick and roll action would be sweet with those two. Though Wall may be injured and this probably wouldn’t happen until the deadline and maybe even next offseason it would give the Celtics a reload at point guard if they lose Irving. This would also give Washington some 3 point shooting if Heyward can get back to form and if not he’ll be expiring much sooner than Wall would so it wouldn’t hold them back as much now. This might be a really risky swing for the Celtics but after everything thats happening to them currently it might be worth taking.

i’d be surprised if either of these trades happen.  i don’t think phoenix is close enough to contending to warrant moving that much for paul.  houston also does not have the negotiating upper hand with all the reports going around about how disgruntled paul/harden are with each other.

the wall trade doesn’t make sense if they plan to bring rozier back.  rozier is a good, young pg who is at much cheaper price.  acquiring wall would end that re-signing potential.  i think the other thing is hayward is a stevens guy.  i’m not sure if he’s ready to pull the plug on hayward just yet, especially for someone that can’t play for a full year and will likely create issues with whoever in the pg in 2019-2020; knowing it’s a 1-year gig.

That injury is no joke for a PG like him! Nevermind that might be the worst contract in Basketball. Like they would need to add 2-3 picks including this year’s just for Danny to think about it. He’d still likely say no.

I got a couple nutty ones myself:

    Rockets Get: Wiggins

    Wolves Get: Hayward

    Celtics Get: Chris Paul

    or

    Hawks Get: Wiggins

    Wolves Get: 10th Pick..

    or

    Celtics Get: CP3 and Capela

Rockets get: Hayward and first round picks

I think this would free up money to get Jimmy Butler..I could be wrong though..

    They Nutty.. F it..

Neither if these are actually that bad. If I’m the Suns, I want to hold onto #6 (you can have a lottery protected future 1st instead) but I see the logic. And don’t mind Wall/Hayward either

    Cavs Reload:

CLE gets: Bradley Beal + Gordon Hayward

BOS gets: Tristan Thompson + JR Smith’s contract (save ~ 12mil)

WAS gets #4 Pick, + Future first (MIL) Expiring contracts of Clarkson, Dellavedova, Henson

Celtics get out from Haywards contract and replace Horford with TT. They also save ~12m by cutting JR. Wall is out almost the whole year… Wiz need to rebuild. Get the fourth pick + future 1st + 3 guys who can be assets at the trade deadline for Bradley Beal.
