5. Bob Mcadoo
6. Dikembe Mutombo
7. Tracy Mcgrady
8. Reggie Miller
9. Kevin Mchale
10. Alonzo MourningAnd yes, it was hard leaving off HOFs Earl the Pearl and Chris Mullin.

joecheck88ParticipantMutombo and McGrady over Mullin and Monroe is tough in my book. Also it doesn’t seem right to put McGrady above Reggie Miller. Reggie was always getting past the first round in the playoffs and has a real whole career. I like the list but I think those are the biggest argument points.

jmarg25ParticipantI think McGrady is just a more complete player than Miller. I feel like he does everything better except shooting. Also, about the playoffs, I think McGrady was never on the right team. On Orlando, he didn’t have much talent around him, and on Houston, the West was always loaded.

joecheck88ParticipantAlso I don’t know why you have Dikembe so high. I would have Mourning ahead of him. Stephon Marbury probably should’ve been on this list but he couldn’t get it together and think Shawn Marion deserves honorable mention.

WITNESS2014ParticipantThe M list was stronger than I thought. I would keep Mcgrady over Reggie Miller due to the stats. It’s close though. Mutombo needs to be switched with Mourning.

JoeWolf1You guys realize Mutombo won DPOTY 4 times and is 2nd All-Time in blocks. He was the best at what he did for a long time and I think that counts for a lot.

theprophetParticipantyeah, true but zo was right there with mutombo on defense, but was more lethal on offense.

JoeWolf1Through no fault of his own, Zo was cut down in his prime. He was a complete 1st tier center for 7 years, but since these lists are aimed more at total career than prime, I still vote Dikembe, but I have lots of respect for Zo and the level of play he maintained after his kidney issues.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantMcHale should be higher. Yeah his numbers might not have been ridiculous but he was playing with an elite team most of his career and didn’t have to play hero ball or be the center piece of an offense. As far as his skill set goes, he was one of the most skilled PFs I’ve ever seen in the post, and he was a very good defender as well. IMO if the mid 90s was the golden age of Centers then the period from 1988-1990 was the golden age of power forwards and McHale was dominant.
Not to use another publication’s rankings as justification for my own, but when Slam did their new top 50 in 2009, McHale ranked 26th ahead of everybody except the Malones.
Maravich, Mutombo, Miller and Mourning didn’t even make the top 50.

jmarg25ParticipantGood points, I think Mchale could slip in front of Reggie Miller, but it’s hard to put him ahead of TMAC. McGrady was a top ten player in the league for a good 5-6 years.
