HaleParticipantWow, far more serious then I thought. Not a fan on him, but I hope he recovers without setback.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantPARIS — NBA star Tony Parker may miss the London Olympics after almost losing his eye in a fight involving singer Chris Brown and members of hip-hop star Drake’s entourage.
Parker’s cornea was scratched in the fight, and the guard has revealed he had to have an operation to remove a shard that had "penetrated 99 percent" of his left eye.
"I almost lost my eye," Parker said in an interview posted on his website Sunday.
He did not join the rest of France’s team Wednesday and will see a specialist in New York when he is cleared to take long-haul flights after July 5.
"I’m seeing a specialist in New York with the hope of being given the all clear to play in the Olympic Games," Parker said. "Spurs are very worried.
"Anything can happen, including me being out of the Olympics. The decision doesn’t belong to me anymore. It’s in the hands of the doctor and San Antonio."
Parker said he has been having hallucinations and been unable to leave his hotel room for eight days because of the risk of infection. He also has to apply five different products into his eye every two hours.
"Fear sets in," Parker said of being told he would have to undergo surgery. "An eye is so fragile. … I couldn’t believe it. But that’s life. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"I didn’t have luck, but I came out well from my misfortune. It could have been worse. The rest of my career is not in question. I just have to wait for the injury to heal itself."
Despite being unable to play, Parker will spend the rest of his time in France with the French squad in Pau.
France’s first game at the Olympics is against the United States on July 29.
Chris Brown, his girlfriend and his bodyguard were among eight injured during the fight inside the W.i.P club in SoHo on June 15. Police say members of Drake’s entourage stopped Brown as he was leaving. The fight escalated and bottles were thrown.
Parker is suing the New York City club for $20 million.

IndianaBasketballParticipantAt first I thought Parker was going overboard, but not after hearing this…
Sad that a lame fight between two singers (yes I called Drake a singer) caused this… Happy he’s okay and hope it doesn’t end his chance to play in the Olympics.

machu46ParticipantThe fact that his reasoning for suing the nightclub is that "they should have known Drake and CB would fight" is just utterly ridiculous in my opinion. My god, I didn’t even know they had beef until after this happened.

UNCbasketballbumParticipantChris Brown is a disgrace to mankind…

NbanflguyParticipantHe should sue Chris Brown and Drake, not the nightclub. How is Chris Brown still allowed out in public? He should be in jail.

doubledribblerParticipantAthletes and people with lots of money should definitely avoid clubs. Be like mike Tyson and build one at your house, but only let in who you know. Too many jealous people, groupies, and people with bad intentions.
As for the lawsuit, I agree with machu46. Not sure if that is just something the lawyer threw in, but I had heard mention that the club had a lot of violations, so who knows at this point. Someone needs to sue the people involved above all else though. At this point the biggest problem is knowing who did what unless it was on camera, because I doubt any of then are going to cooperate unless they just decide to throw someone from the other “side” under the bus.

220ParticipantThat’s insane. To think Parker nearly lost his eye.

sheltwon3ParticipantFrom what I have gather, it was Drake that started it. Blaming Chris Brown because of his past is messed up because Drake and his clear cut image is the real culprit.

SpacegrassParticipantSucks for Tony Parker and I hope him a quick recovery , but why was he hanging out with a dude that beats women and a disney rapper? Tony you have to pick people you hang around much more wisely , if you are going to risk your life hanging around rappers at least make sure they are good rappers.

Cavaliers420ParticipantPoor TP, first OKC wins the West then Chris Brown gets him in a bar fight? Life is rough for for a french milliondollar basketball player. 🙁
