Im quite a fan of Harris, i though he would of made the all star team this year.  He is really underrated.

For Phillie, who is more valuable ? Tobias Harris or Jimmy Butler ?

He fits the team’s offense as a stretch 4, a couple of years younger than Jimmy and a guy who is coachable.

They are different kinds of player of similar value for mine. Harris is a far better shooter than what people give him credit for. He was always a tweener but I think he’s clearly shown now he’s a 4 and a weapon on offense. Butler brings all star quality to the table, but I’d focus on keeping Harris if I had to choose.

If I’m Philly, I’m signing Harris first, his shooting and age is a perfect match to Embiid and simmons and what Philly is building since he is younger than Jimmy. In embiid and simmons I think Phila don’t need another star player with the personality of butler since he could clash sometime with embiid or simmons. But I think they need a player like butler whose shotmaking in clutch time would be very useful since simmons cannot shoot or would rather pass the ball in crunch time.

This is tough for me because you can see Harris’ value when the team is flowing when and he can get his shots off and plays underrated D. However, Butler is hit or miss he almost always plays good defense on the opposing teams best player however offensively he can fade easily. However, when things completely break down on offense he can be a big difference maker. I’d still take Harris given the two because of time lines but I’d like to see them try to keep both. I think the Simmons/Embiid issue is a bigger conflict they need to work out since it kills spacing but its hard to deny both are awesome players that hopefully will figure out how to fit together better.

When the Sixers look to get Harris involved he becomes an important piece. Problem up until this series with the Nets is he wasn’t shooting well and wasn’t contributing in any other area. If he continues to play like he is against the Nets then he must be signed but if you go by how  he played the final 20+ games of the regular season, he isn’t worth a max contract.  I would max Butler first and look to get a discount with Harris. Jimmy is currently the backup PG in addition to being a plus defender and the teams closer.  Harris is basically a stretch four and a slasher who isn’t good at scoring in the paint.  I think Harris will come back to what he has been playing at going into the playoffs which was a replaceable piece.

I’m a fan of Harris. Never wanted Detroit to trade him. He’s a team first guy and plays hard.

Best Pick & Roll players in the NBA according to analytics & Ben Simmons is an Elite Screener – yet after acquiring Both of these Studs Phila coach Brett Brown Publicly stated

"I’m Not a waiter where we’re Not going to switch our system up so guys can take turns scoring – we are Not a Pick & Roll team so Jimmy & Tobias are going to have to adjust & they will but it’s going to take time"

    That;s what’s called Stubborn stupidity

Brown FINALLY started running the Pick & Roll instead of 100% having Embiid set picks 25 ft from the Hoop & Ben Simmons do nothing but wait for Reddick to run around Embiid so he could do a Dribble hand off to Reddick & when that did Not work Brown basically would say ok Ben put Joel on the block – throw him the Ucking rock & see if he can Rescue us!

So after Refusing to run P&R’s the Entire last 2+ months of the season after the Butler & Harris trades & after Losing game 1 to Brooklyn in the playoffs & w/ the Phila fan base – a Very Smart mostly Inner City fan base who Know basketball about to tear the arena down w/ their bare hands & calling for Brown to be Fired

Brown FINALLY started running the Pick & Roll & he unleashed Simmons & allowed Butler & Harris to be comfotable – Embiid is a 3 level scorer & Reddick is one of the Gr8 3pt shooters in the NBA – they do Not need offenses designed for them.

But now mixing in the P&R Phila looks Devetstating – Butler, Harris & Simmons are ALL very happy & it’s easy to see that & when great players are Happy at the Off end they Dominate at the Defensive end

Everyone is picking Toronto in round 2 & I am too I have Raptors in 7 b/c of the Experience level & I feel like Phila is so young their future is in front of them – but Remember this – Toronto played Phila 4X & Harris played in NONE of those games & Butler Only played in the Final game in early Feb just a week or two after being traded

So I wont be one bit surpirsed in Phila beat Toronto b/c this is a completely Diff Sixers team

But the OG post I really hope Phila sign Both b/c I want to see this starting 5 get a chance to play a Full season together & Grow over then next few years
