gatorheelsParticipantI just read where OKL City is thinking about trading down to draft Curry. Meanwhile it seems the Knicks want to trade up and take Thabeet. Obviously there will be a ton of rumors before draft night but I just read about this and it seems interesting. I think Thabeet could dramatically improve the Knicks defense. I would love to see Curry playing alongisde Durant.

knicksfreakParticipantI’d make that trade if Rubio was available at 3.

gatorheelsParticipantYeah I’m sure the Knicks would love to get Rubio.

GreenLanternParticipantMore likely the knicks would trade up to get Rubio, not Thabeet. If they are trying to get Thabeet, it’s to replace Lee’s expiring contract in a trade. Remember that if New York is to trade up in a average to below average draft, it will be to sell tickets and there are only two names this year that will do that day 1: Griffin and Rubio (who I think may be overrated but I hope not). New York’s fan base will not tolerate having a top 3 pick that will take a MINIMUM 3 years to make an impact and won’t excite in the meantime. It’s unfair to Thabeet who has a promising future, but people forget the NBA isn’t just a game, it’s also a business.

xbadgerhustlerParticipantCurry does seem like a good pairing with Russ… Curry wouldn’t have to guard 2s and he basically does the one thing Russ doesn’t do- SHOOT! That said, I don’t know if Curry is anywhere near James Harden as far as overall ability. If they do trade down to get Curry rather than Harden, they better get a NICE piece along with Curry. And to be honest, the Knicks don’t really have another piece worth trading for. Wilson Chandler? maybe….

GreenLanternParticipantI hope the Knicks aren’t stupid enough to trade Wilson Chandler for anything less than No 1 or No 2 option star, and Harden is real good, but he aint that. Chandler has serious game, and is getting better.

auberParticipantBiggest Smoke Screen of the draft. If New York Jumps its to 2 not 3.

GreenLanternParticipantExactly auber. This is New York. If they are drafting that high, it’s superstar or bust. Thabeet is solid, but NOT a superstar.

auberParticipantI don’t Think Thabeets their guy at all. You have Nate Robinson in that system who can put up some frightening numbers to go along with Chris Duhon. They should just sit back relax and take curry or harden if he falls.I think It’s an awful lot to move up from 8-2/3 and throw David lee into a deal.
