durantula621ParticipantIf Nerlens Noel falls on draft night do you think the Thunder should trade up for him (2nd or 3rd overall)? Think Charlotte would be interested. Thanks.

juves4783Participantfor some reason, this ended up on this post instead of the len going #1 post (which was double posted so i guess my comment ended up on this one).

jhbm24ParticipantJust asking a question. Not a rumor. Don’t try to be a prick.
And I’m not sure if Jeremy Lamb and the 12th pick is enough for the top 5 pick. And I believe a lot of people will say that Lamb or PJ3 are better prospects than anyone in this draft.
But I like how you’re thinking out of the box. Don’t think he would cover up their center problems either though.

durantula621ParticipantI agree. Don’t know if Nerlens worth Perry Jones III, Reggie Jackson, or Jeremy Lamb.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantIf Nerlens falls past 3 I think CHA would take 12 Lamb & PJ3. OKC would give Nerlens a no pressure situation to get his health and body right slowly and by 14-15 him & Serge would be a nasty help side D combo. CHA would be pairing Kemba & Lamb back up and could still get a quality player at 12

juves4783ParticipantCHA would definitely take that trade. they are weak at the sg, pf and c positions and could address all those with lamb, pj3 and the 12th pick, but….
no way the thunder would trade that much for a pf that weighed 205 lbs with a torn acl with limited offensive skills.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantWhy wouldn’t they? of the 3 assets the only one that would play much this yr is Lamb. They can get a 2 guard at 27(Crabbe, Rice Jr) and grab CJ Leslie early 2nd who brings the exact same skillset PJ does.
Nerlens is already up to 218 as of yesterday according to hoopsworld and his doc is confident he can get to 230 before he returns. All OKC would need him to do is catch get up quick and finish at the rim (his strengths & Perks weaknesses)0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/18/2013 - 10:21am #799898

Memphis MadnessParticipantNerlens Noel is not worth 12, Perry Jones, and Jeremy Lamb. And, I am still fairly high on Nerlens Noel.
First, the Thunder would lose some of their guys for the future. Then you have Russell Westbrook coming off an injury. So you have that AND Noel is coming off a major injury and he will be a rookie so I don’t see those guys meshing very well by next spring.
If Noel falls past Cleveland and Orlando, there is a very slight chance that he free falls and ends up at 12 anyway.
Or, more likely, Cody Zeller or Kelly Olynyk might be there (Steven Adams should be available at 12 anyway) and those guys are a bit more polished on offense and could turn into stretch fours.
The Thunder already have their shot blocking, athletic big in Serge Ibaka. They also have a good backup 4 in Nick Collison. Now they need a legit starter inside to score and rebound to take pressure off of Durant and Westbrook.
Noel has a high upside, but what does he bring to the table RIGHT NOW that they couldn’t get from Jeff Withey or Gorgui Dieng? And, those two aren’t going in the top 5.
Zeller or Olynyk might be better fits next to Ibaka even though Noel has more raw “talent”.
If neither Zeller or Olynyk are still on the board, then the Thunder need to think about trading the 12th pick, the 32nd pick, Jeremy Lamb or Perry Jones, and Kendrick Perkins to the Cavs for Andy V.
Andy V would give the Thunder another legit big man. The Cavs would get a great pick at 12, plus another pick at 32 to go along with a nice young prospect (either Perry Jones or Jeremy Lamb), and then K Perk for veteran leadership and toughness.
