michaelds911ParticipantI was thinking and T-Will reminds me a lot of Gerald Wallace. They are both around the same size, 6’7″ 220 lbs, both have crazy athleticism, and play solid defense. They’re weaknesses are the same as well. They both don’t have the most reliable jumpshot and can struggle sometimes of the dribble. Anybody agree or have a better comparison?

SlickParticipantSolid comparison except that Wallace isn’t any where near the passer or thinker that Williams is. Plus Williams settles for jump shots more and Wallace slashes more.
I can see where you are coming from though.

nicotheman1ParticipantYea I def agree. Terrence was more about his playmaking abilities rather than his jumpshot which is not yet up to par. Williams at times can overtake shots but is close to being a consistent. Wallace is def more of a player who makes cuts all the time. I think Terrence Williams reminds me more of a Andre Igoudala

Al-Farouq AminuParticipantNah, T-Will is a lot more like Corey Maggette

WälseParticipanti can see your thought process here, but i think there are better comparisons. physically they are the same, but their styles are pretty different. i keep screaming Ronnie Brewer, but i’m not getting too much support. consider it.

Al-Farouq AminuParticipantRonnie Brewer is possibly the worst reb+assit G/F there is in the NBA.
He plays 30 minutes and gets 3+ rebs and 2+ assits.
T-Will is off the chart is collecting rebs and assits, and that’s what made him special in Lousiville.0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/29/2009 - 4:28pm #147776
WälseParticipanti agree, but if you look at what Brewer did in college, he was a good passer and rebounder. check out Brewer’s profile when he came out of Arkansas. doesnt it almost sound like a scouting report of Terrence Williams? i dont think an NBA team will let T. Will have the ball in his hands to the extent that he did at Louisville.

michaelds911ParticipantT-Will won’t be able to get to the basket in the league like Maggette can, plus Maggette has a decent jumper. I also think T-Will will be like Wallace at getting junk baskets and put-backs. Wallace isn’t that great of a slasher slick, he is more effective on the break.

Meditated StatesParticipantI think T will will be a steal in this draft.I dont know if he can defend and block shots like Wallace though. T-Will is a better passer.

eprizzle14ParticipantTerrence Williams is a guy I like, because I like guy’s who TAKE it to the RACK. He crashes the boards and has good vision, but measuring 6’4.5 wont help him. I still say he’s a first rounder

YoungChrisKyParticipantT-Will Is Andre Iguodala up an down people!!!!! Anybody who remembers Iguodala comin outta Arizona they will know he an T-Will had an almost identical game and both playmakers with thier passing ability. But Iguodala became a better shooter and more solid ball handler and now could be an all-star for years to come. Both equal build 6’6 225 lean muscular athletic freaks. If T-Will continues to work on his shooting and decision making i seem him as an Iguodala clone. Not quite a superstar but a solid all-star caliber player

WälseParticipantbut i dont think i’ve ever seen Terrence Williams dunk in traffic. isn’t that more or less what Iggy’s known for? & i think Williams is a much smarter player than Iggy. he plays more under control. Iggy plays recklessly at times, gets caught in the air, and makes a lot of careless plays. but he also makes a lot of spectacular plays. i do get that they are both athletic and versatile, but i think there are better comparisons. and if NBA GMs agreed with you fellas, he would be projected as a top 10 pick. i think Iggy is a best case scenario for him. you may be right on the money, but i dont see it. i think he’s gonna be more role player, than go-to-guy.

Al-Farouq AminuParticipant“& i think Williams is a much smarter player than Iggy” ????
Where did you come up with the idea that 76ers franchise player is a lot less intelligent than a role player like T-Will ??????
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 8:38am #147923
WälseParticipantjust from watching Iggy get caught in the air and throwing wild passes. trying to do a little too much at times. maybe “much smarter” is going a little too far, but i’m sure you know what i’m talking about. not that he’s not a smart player. let’s just say he takes a lot of ill advised risks on the court that Williams might not take. then again the risks Iggy takes can lead to highlight plays as well, so its a gift and a curse. i dont think role player versus franchise player makes any difference though. who wouldnt agree that Shane Battier is a smarter player than most franchise guys? know what i mean?

joecheck88Participanttwill will never come close to iggy. end that right now. i dont care how similar they were in college. there is a reason iggy was a top 10 pick out of his soph. year and t will is going late first because iggy is 5 times the player t will is ever going to be. t will is going to get garbage minutes his first year and he will be at best a gerald wallace type player.

YoungChrisKyParticipantMan u r crazy!!!!!!!! Wut make Iggy 5 time better then T-Will!!!!! The only thing that really put Iggy ova the top is his experience playing in nba games. Other then that nothing. Iggy is still dominating and using that word lightly of pure athletic ability. T-Will carried a team as far as bein a playmaker and rebounder all the way 2 a number 1 overall seed. T-Will has all the physical tools and is a consistent jumpshot away from being a star in the league.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 11:16am #147938
Al-Farouq AminuParticipantIf T-Will ever averages 19, 6, 5, 2, then I’ll be suprised..
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 11:50am #147939
WälseParticipantlikewise, i’d be shocked. he’s not the same type scorer as Iggy. he’s got versatility, like Iggy, but he doesnt have that knack for scoring that elite wing players have. & i dont think Pitino holds guys back like Dean Smith or anything, so there’s no reason for him not to show it already. but then again, who knows?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 2:27pm #147947
Al-Farouq AminuParticipantT-Will looks like a Tony Allen to me…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 3:34pm #147953
WälseParticipanttony allen has crossed my mind too. tony allen with added versatililty.

nicotheman1ParticipantTerrence was so similar to Iggy in college what were you talkin about!!!!!!! what do u mean williams cant dunk in traffic”?? look on youtube and you will find how many young guys he posterized at Louisville . Im looking at a video right now of him dunking in traffic. Them both being the same weight and size, play making skills, and an amateur shot. Comparisons with them are identical.

WälseParticipanthook me up with that link Nico. i’m gonna be mad at you if its all back door lobs, open court dunks, and no dunks off the dribble. lol
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 6:05pm #147964
Al-Farouq AminuParticipantDUDE !!!
Iggy came out after like a year, T-WILL IS A SENIOR; it took him a long time to be that good.0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 7:27pm #147971
michaelds911ParticipantJust leave it alone Farouq. 75% of the people on here have no clue what they are talking about.
