The Suns have found a replacement for Amare. They have reportedly signed Hakim Warrick to a 4 year $18 million deal.

McDunkin- I totally agree. Hakim Warrick is a better backup than a starter. I think they should have went after someone different like Luis Scola or Udonis Haslem or Al Harrington

Great signing but like previously stated I wouldve liked Ty Thomas more on that roster…

Yeah I posted a topic earlier that the Suns were interested in Tyrus Thomas.  Guess that probably won’t happen now. I think Tyrus would’ve helped the Suns more than Warrick but he also would’ve been more expensive I think.  I’m interested to see where Tyrus Thomas ends up.

Overall I just don’t like this Suns team.  They have some athletic/energy big men but they aren’t skilled enough to compete with other playoff teams.  Matter fact as of their roster right now (assuming Amare is gone) I don’t think Phoenix makes the playoffs.  They’ve got to get a post player that can score & some younger wings.

Warrick sucks…nowhere near being as good as Amare.

It’s a win-win situation for both… The Suns get an athletic forward that can help Nash’s unselfish plays and at the same time, getting him for "just" $18 Mil which is pretty much affordable for PHX… Warrick can be able to benefit with the run n gun style of Phoenix… I expect him to improve the way Channing did…

If they lose Amare for nothing, they will absolutely need Earl Clark to emerge as a big time contributor. Hakim Warrick is a fine player, and is more skilled than he gets credit for having. Frye is a nice shooter to have as well. Even their picks, Lawal and Collins, are nice big, active bodies. None of the lot has the potential to create on their own, which is why I think that the success of that season will rest on whether Clark develops or not.

I guess the possibility of a sign-and-trade is still very much a possibility, and if they can come away with Michael Beasley, David Lee, or a trade exception that allows them to snatch a guy like Troy Murphy or Marvin Williams then they will probably be in a less troublesome position.

I think they over paid a lil with a 4yr 16m contract, but I think he will be a great fit for PHX & will be a solid rotation player, maybe he can avg 12pts & 5-7 rebs
