kotyParticipantWho do you guys believe will be this years sleepers?
Some guys I like are:
Danny Green: Great length, good shooter, good defender, a do everything guy (ideal team: a championship caliber team who can use him in different roles like the celtics)
Josh Heyfelt: Solid big man who can shoot the ball (perfect fit: Cavaliers; he will be able to spread out the offense for LeBron with his shooting ability)
Jeff Adrien: Bruising, athletic forward who i believe has a chance to believe can be a maxiell type player with more rangeUr opinions?

sheltwon3ParticipantI like all of those assessments and the bad part that unless people start dropping out they will all be second round picks but may come out on top because a good second round pick can up his contract sooner than a first rounder.

bdoody42ParticipantI will list a few players I think can be sleepers.
1. A.J. Price: I don’t think he can be a starter anytime soon, but I think he is a very good overall defender. He gets in passing lanes and can also keep his man in front of him.
2. Tyrese Rice: This guy can score in a hurry. He has good range, but has just improve his shot selection. if he learns to run an offense I think he could end up being a style.
3. Jeff Pendergraph: He is a person who does the dirty work for a team. he is good on the glass, especially the offensive glass. He is a good inside shooter, with his right hook. He can also face up if needed. This last season he shoot 67% fromt he field.
In response to the guy who talked above about Jeff Adrien. I think he could be solid on a bench somewhere, but nowhere near the same athlete as Jason Maxiell.

kotyParticipantcoming out of college, maxiel was the same height and is listed as 5 pounds lighter. Also, adrien is very athletic

luvnbballParticipanti think terrence williams from louisville is going to be a good player in the league…he is very athletic…has the ability to play great defense and be a good facilitator from the shooting guard position…he can become a better delonte west…thats a great thing tho…oh yea sam young and gerald henderson can also be solid nba 2 guards…maybe not starters but contributors on great teams

knicksfreakParticipantTerrence Williams, Tyler Smith, Nick Calathes, Patrick Mills
I know Tyreke Evans is projected in the lottery but he is a sleeper. I think he is going to be the best player in this draft which makes him a steal anywhere out of the top 5.

usfballerParticipantThis far out from the draft, I’d say the only real sleepers are guys in the 2nd round and undrafted. Garrett Temple from LSU (mentioned him before, but…) can guard 3 positions in the NBA and actually ran the point for LSU at several times in his career. Jerel Mc Neal has gotten noticibly better after each off season, and I see no reason why that wouldn’t continue. As long as he is at least 6’9″, then Josh Heytvelt is a good call. He seems like he would’ve been a lock for the 1st round if not for his trip, oops I mean, slip up a couple years ago. And I have been a fan of Tyler Smith’s forever. I think he will really have a nice NBA career.

dolla130Participantwell on this site they got tyreke goin 13 to the pacers which will not happen just becuase he iz the best slasher and 1 on 1 player in this years draft makin him a automatic sure fire lottery top ten pick also with his size at 6’6 and his amazin wingspan and crafty crossover for his size that makes him an automatic starter i wouldnt be surprised if a team such as grizzlies or t.wolves pick him up

bdoody42ParticipantI understand that they have similiar heights and weights coming out of college, but really that doesn’t mean that they have the same atheltic ability. Maxiell has a lot more hops and also has longer arms. I don’t think they will be near the same type of player. Adrien has more rnage on his jump shot, to about 15 feet, where Maxiell doesn’t.

butidonthavemoneyI think Jonas Jerebko will be a solid rotation player in the league. He’s the got size, athleticism and hustle just needs more skills. I think he could slip into the first round and get drafted by a team like Memphis, Dallas or even Utah because he has potential and could be kept overseas until there is a little more money to spend for whatever team acquires him.

Meditated StatesParticipantTyrese Rice will surprise some people.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantAlex Ruoff. Good size for the 2. Can also run a little point. Great shooter. Good defence. Great IQ!

QHaynes123My guy is Austin Daye. I dont think hes going round 1. He reminds me of a more skinnier version of a shawn marion-lamar odom type to me. People forget he came into the year a top 10 prospect. If he puts on more wieght…he will be a all-star.
I also like Tyler Smith and Robert Dozier

The8thDeadlySinParticipantHe has got some potential if he isnt like Young. How old is the guy?

SockiParticipantI agree with R-Dot-13. Jermaine Taylor. Should have taken Curry’s spot as a 1st team all-american.

a2ParticipantDionte Christmas, Curtis Jarells, Tyreke Evans, and Terrence Williams. Will have a good rookie seasons if given the chance.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/13/2009 - 8:23pm #150127
usfballerParticipantDaye was a sophmore at Gonzaga this year. If he really is 6’10” then he is way too talented to not be a 1st rounder and shouldn’t really go any later than 20.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/13/2009 - 8:52pm #150128
Al-Farouq AminuParticipantIf you are talking about sleepers in the 2nd round, you have to include my bro,
Alade Aminu aka The flyin’ jet0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/13/2009 - 9:14pm #150132
Evan_MilbergParticipantI think Brockman will be the next undersized PF to have success in the NBA. He’s projected to go somewhere in the late second round, but I think he’s gonna have a Paul Millsap type of effect on a type with his toughness and rebounding ability. Not gonna be a starter by any means, but for a guy who’s gonna get drafted in the 50s (or maybe not at all and he gets signed as a free agent), he’s gonna be a steal.
