Well, not sure who is watching games out there between this game and the Hawks/Celts game as well as getting an early start to Cinco De Mayo but what a game! The Sixers grit out a 5 point win over the Bulls and take a 2-1 lead.

Before I begin to praise the Sixers for this W, let me say this.. The Sixers DID NOT DESERVE TO WIN! (If this game was over after the 39 minute mark). The Bulls were out rebounding them effortlessly, shooting better, and looked like they had it when Rip Hamilton made a 3-pointer from the top of the key to put them up 14 with about 9 minutes left to play in the 4th. Lavoy and Spencer were not getting to their spots for their boards and Gibson, Asik, and Noah (until the injury to his ankle) were making them look small. Rip was able to get Jrue in early foul trouble and take him outta the game early. And the Bulls always have two individuals containing Lou Williams and making it tough for him.

…However, this is why we play the game! Spencer Hawes decides to come up big and take 20 foot jumpers from the wing. He was hitting them and helped the Sixers come back. Evan Turner, again, had an amazing game where he was under control and making plays. Iggy, meanwhile, was irrelevant so the production of ET was much needed. The Sixers go on a 16-2 run to tie the game late. The Bulls were using up as much of the clock but were just unable to score. You can credit the Sixers defense but the Bulls looked like they ran outta gas late. Luol Deng came up short once again and the Sixers were kind of playing off him. I’ll give Iggy credit there for making it so tough on Deng.

It was a great game from a Philly P.O.V. They played great in those 9 minutes and the crowd was really into (ABOUT TIME PHILLY!??!) Can the Sixers do it again on Sunday? It won’t be easy but if the Sixers can play in a game where they played pretty bad until the final 9 minutes then I like their chances. Gotta admire both teams playing hard though
