Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipant2nd highest ever at the combine only behind Kenny Gregory who had 45.5 Inches in 2001.
He’s been showing off athletically today, it’s crazy, he’s pretty much the same size as his dad who was an Hall Of Fame/All-Star shortstop in baseball. Maybe he chose the wrong sport, but I wish him luck in basketball he’s definitely a player, people are just scared of his size though.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantOn the other hand Trey Burke won yesterday in the measurements department, besides a good vertical, he ranks low in every athleticism test especially lane agility, it was 11.2 seconds.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantMaybe! Because Zack Cozart and his .208 batting average isn’t cutting it lol

hbomb3300ParticipantI heard Larkin tell the story of how he gave up baseball for basketball on ESPN… I gaurantee he would of at least been an MLB player, most likely all star, if he stuck to it.

scliddiardParticipantThe Jazz need a point guard and I have been vasilating between Schroder and Larkin, to me Larkin was always the better offensive player and I was putting Schroder as possibly the best option because of his defense. Today Larkins results in the athletic portion of the combine have me thinking he is the one we need. His 44 inch vert. is very impressive and I’m not sure but I think he was close to the top if not the top in the sprint and quickness drills as well. If Larkin is as athletic as he seems to be he can play D, it is just a matter of effort and desire. Long arms like Schroder have make it easier but quickness and speed are what make it possible to move and do what is needed on the defensive end. I haven’t seen as much about Schroder as I’d like and if the Jazz could get either one (at this point) I’d be OK with it , as the process goes on we will learn more but I like what Larkin is showing. Larkins ability to shoot and penitrate could really open things up for Favors and Kanter. I hope we can get a chance to see Larkin and Schroder go against each other in workouts but if Schroder has a promise it probably won’t happen.
Does any one have a link with the full results of the athletic testing that was done today? I’m wanting to know if Larkin as the fastest and quickest, besides having the best vert.?0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/17/2013 - 12:45pm #776638

TheLastWordParticipantIf he had a decent wingspan I could get on board, but he doesn’t.

scliddiardParticipantThat is the problem, I haven’t seen him enough to see if he uses his quickness and speed to play tough D. He’s mighty short and doesn’t have the long arms to try to make up for it, but quickness and speed could if he tries hard enough. What highlight stuff I have seen I haven’t seen a great deal of defense. I love his outside shot and how he can penitrate and dish BUT………………………………………….. I guess we’ll see, in time. I’d love to see and hear how he does against other point guards in workouts.

M-EazyParticipantDamn would’ve never known he has a 44 inch vertical the way he plays. Any highllights of him dunking because I don’t remember anything this past season showing he had a 44 inch vertical at all.
