Kevin Johnson and the city of Sacramento has revealed their plan to keep the Kings in the State’s capital. The primary names in his deal include Mark Mastrov, the founder of 24 Hour Fitness, and Ron Burkle, a billionaire who is the co-owner of the Pittsburgh Penguins. It is told that the offer will be slightly less than the Seattle Group’s. What do you guys think? Will the Kings stay put or become the Sonics?

Seattle has already broke ground in with the new arena. I thought this desk was as good as done. Sac isn’t a sports town. Why wouldn’t the nba want to help the Seattle pro sports brand. The new stadium is in perfect location even a horrible team would sell out most nights in Seattle. We have the Seahawks who have the best fans in the nfl the mariners who sucks but still are huge in Seattle and the sounders who are solid. What does sac have other than being in cali. Seattle> Sac and its not even close. I lived in nor cal for half my life and its not even close in less ur in sf or Humboldt

How is Sacramento not a sports town? They sold out 17 seasons compared to Seattle’s 4. Sacramento has some of the best fans in the NBA and is a new owner away from many more sell outs, it is just hard to support a team whose owners have for years taken a cr@p on their fans. If the NBA wanted so badly to help Seattle’s “pro sports brand” why did they not just give them an expansion team years ago?

I think the Kings have a chance to stay in Sac. Even though the offer comes in just a bit below Seattle’s, it would actually be worth more to the Maloofs because Hansen’s offer includes the $70 million that would have to be paid back in order to move the team. If the Kings stay in Sac that debt would be assumed by Mastrov. I hope the team Owners decide not just to protect their own butts by o.k.ing w/e another owner wants to do, and instead see that the City and team have been sucked dry by the Maloofs and not even that can stop the Kings fans and the city from supporting their team.

I sort of want the Kings to keep their team. I think Seattle deserves a franchise again, eventually. But SAC does have a nice fan base that really comes out if the team is good.

I went to a game in Sac vs Boston and the atmosphere was awesome. My mom hates the NBA but even she enjoyed herself. However, i have plans to move to Seattle and would love to be able to go on over to a game whenever I really wanted to. Very torn on this issue. KJ is sweet though. I saw him on the streets one day and he said hi to me like we’d been bff’s for years. I say expand to grant Seattle a franchise, give them 2 top 10/lottery picks so everyone can be happy.
