The Kings have been trash for awhile now. After a really good draft in my opinion, they seem to finally be heading in the right direction. I wonder if there postioned to offer someone like Millsap or Gallo, max or near max, and sign them. Not go all in yet, but add that veteran talent to atleast be relevant. There going to be an interesting team to watch this offseason

There’s no point. Even with Millsap or Gallo that’s not pushing them into the elites of the western conference. Play/start that young core that they have and make moves accordingly. They are gonna lose there fair share of games but at least now they have a identity, plenty time for growth and should be fun to watch.

^agreed. Start Fox, Hield, Jackson/Bogdan, Skal, and Willie every game and play Giles as much as you can

I would think Otto Porter would be a great fit in regards to position, age, potential…Millsap doesn’t really fit in my opinion. They really need to be smart and stick with the movement they’ve started. They should only go after 1st- super stars in free agency, which they’re not going to get, so 2nd- guys with potential that can possibly turn into all stars or be packaged and traded for a big name. It’s hard to imagine winning a championship without multiple superstars in the coming years.

The Kings do have cap space but I agree that the younger FAs who might be RFAs are the sort of guys they should target. Millsap is an excellent pro but he’d want to be on a contender to be honest. If they could find a veteran who already has a title to be a locker room leader then that would be a good move.

Gallo could actually be a decent option he is 28/29 and they have an SF need but I’d only look at him if the figures were right, I’d not want to be paying him $27-28 million a year to be honest.

With this talk of Iggy potentially moving on due to GSW’s cap issues, he could be of interest to the Kings if he fancied being part of a project and didn’t want to uproot from LA area.

No one wants to be a King this offseason.

Kings probably don’t want anyone either.

Looking at a PHI rebuild in its infancy.

Tanking not done. They need to finish last so they can draft Porter/Doncic. They can then sign players after that since they don’t have a pick in 2019.

Vlade some bad deals the last few years but it’s been the owner pushing him to make rook to sign players at all costs b/c he wanted to make the playoffs to kick off their new stadium.

It jusr doesn’t work that way in the NBA. You must build thru the Draft & then sign one or two free agents to augment your roster Before your good young players are owned Max deals

B/c you can go Over the cap to sign your own Drafted players but yopu can’t go over the cap to sign free agents

The Kings have finished under .500 10 or 11 years in a row. I would have liked to seen them keep that #10 pick & Draft Malik Monk to come off the bench as a Heat check instant offense 6th man. I’m not sold on Justin Jackson & Harry Giles could be a Star but a team like the Kings is not in a position to gamble.

They will be Very young next year but their coach finally has "His" team – they should finish very low & that’s not a bad thing b/c they could get a Star if they land a Top 3 pick in 2018 & that is Crucial b/c they have No pick in 2019.

All in all I really like what the Kings are doing. The way the NBA is set up the only way a team can ever build something sustainable is by building through the Draft for about 3 or 4 years.

I don’t think they wanna overpay for a "veteran presence", but with Coach Dave Joerger maybe he takes a look at some Grizzlies guys that he used to coach.  Don’t think he wants to reunite with Tony Allen, but Mike Miller could give the King’s a veteran presence/shooter for his 5th last hurrah in the past 4 years.  If Z Bo wants one more pay day then he could be a good instant offense/rebounder guy off the bench.  He isn’t a great defender (probably not even GOOD at this point), but he can give the young guys a veteran presence and teach them toughness.

The Kings might be better off signing "low usage/cheap contract" veteran guys to fill out their roster.

Dahntay Jones would be another one, as a solid wing defensive type.

Joel Anthony has made the championship glue guy rounds and can probably be had for cheap.

Another thing they could do is go after some cheaper "young" veterans with some Warriors championship DNA.  Ian Clark and James Michael McAdoo can probably be had fairly cheap, and should be good, solid options to bolster the Kings’ bench.  McAdoo can be their fifth big behind Skal, WCS, Giles, and Papagiannis.  Ian Clark can be their upgrade over Ben McLemore.  Or, Clark gives the Kings a different look at 2 guard (can also handle the ball as a 1) with McLemore basically being a poor man’s Buddy Hield…

Then get another cheap veteran small forward to fill out the roster.  Mike Miller and Dahntay Jones would be solid options for different reasons.  Luol Deng would be good, too, if the Lakers buy him out.

They can probably sign Gerald Green as a 2/3 athletic veteran who can shoot 3’s, dunk basketballs, and give you ZERO intangibles.

I would go with Warriors DNA member Ian Clark, James McAdoo (also your fifth bigman for the next 10 years), the "young vet" Gerald Green, and the cheap, ornery vet in Dahntay Jones.

Get some assets back from Ben McLemore in a trade (2 future second rounders and some cash?), and give your bench a facelift.

Or, if White Chocolate ever makes a comeback from his comeback (got busted up in the BIG3 already), I, and probably everybody else would like to see him finish out his career as Sacto’s 3rd string point guard.
