Westbrook reminds me of Iverson in his days back at GTwn & his rookie year with Philly the way he is always looking to dunk or dunk on someone. I would hate to see the day when Westbrook starts to do-away with dunking & just settle for jump shots/layups. I love seeing Westbrook dunks, because it brings a smile to my face the way he reminds me of how Iverson used to get it done.

Alot fo times if Westbrook doesn’t dunk he will get the shot blocked. he isn’t the best at avoiding like a D.Rose so he goes hard and straight at big men and when you’re going at big men alot of times if you don’t dunk it and try to lay it up instead they will be sending the ball back to you first class

^^ You have to take note though that Russell Westbrook has been to the charity stripe over 100 more times than Derrick Rose this season. That’s a considerable amount. Rose has made improvements in it this year but he still needs to work on getting to the line. He still at times avoids contact and takes difficult layups which he makes most of the time, but drawing fouls is more impactful on the game. You tag other players with foul trouble plus since Rose is a good FT shooter those points are pretty automatic. Once Rose starts to seek more contact his scoring average will increase big time, and he’s already a scary player as is. I understand your point but at the same time because Russell attacks the rim vertically he gets to the line 25% of the time more than Rose.

Thats because Rose knows how to avoid contact very well. How often do you see rose do a reverse or go around a player instead of tryna go through them??  Awhole lot right. You wont go to the line as much as a guy who tries to dunk on you or go through you

^^ I know my point is that getting to the line is more effective than avoiding contact. In the playoffs especially if you can get guys like Dwight Howard in foul trouble that’s 10x more impactful than a single basket. I’m saying that it isn’t necessarily a negative that Westbrook doesn’t avoid contact. Yeah he’ll get blocked but he’ll also draw fouls which is huge.
