Russ stood up for Pg13 not making the All-star game the other day. One of the names he called out was Lillard. Dame being the classy, carries a chip on his shoulder kind of guy in response to Westbrook said he was hurt Westbrook would say that but he earned his spot.

Both of these guys are 1a and 1B when it comes 2 being my fave players in the league. And I see where Both players are coming from.

Lillard is the most offensively versatile pg you will find. His range only 2nd to curry maybe harden. His athleticism only 2nd to Westbrook maybe wall. He is as clutch as they come and always comes out to complete. He has averaged D.rose mvp numbers the past 3 seasons which goes unnoticed to a lot of people.

And we all know about Westbrook. A Fiery competitor. If your on his team your family and he has your back. If not F-u lol. He’s not as offensively gifted as Dame in my opinion but his athleticism is out of the world.

I stand 100% that dame should have made it as well as pg13. Draymond green shouldn’t have. Draymond is a Winner and is solid but no all star in my opinion. He is more effective on the warriors then in a all star game my opinion.

As for Dame and Russ. Who’s side are you on and if you had 2 pick 1 out of the 2 to start a Franchise with. Who would it be??

This year there has been all this talk that "if your saying a guy should be in, you have to say who he would replace." It’s all fine and good for the media, that’s their job, but I don’t like players taking shots at other players about ASG. It just leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth and isn’t a good look for the league.

I think Russ was wrong for the call out of Lillard, but right in saying he thinks his teammate is ASG caliber.

Honestly, in today’s NBA where you need multiple stars, I take Lillard. Westbrook had a chance with Harden and Durant, but they both left (one by choice and one by team management). That doesn’t speak well for Russ being any kind of building block for a super team. More like the building block of the 2000-20001 Sixers.

All I know is that Lillard has averaged 25/5/5+ for the last few years and took a team that was predicted to finish outside the top 12 to the second round yet still got left off multiple All-star teams. Math isn’t my forte, but that doesn’t add up.

Couldn’t agree more. Lamarcus deciding to head back 2 Texas really set the trailblazers back a couple years more. Even more so then Durant leaving Okc looking back at it now. Okc had melo and Pg13. Not to mention Olidipo could have been harden 2.0 to Russ if Billi Donovan had any balls when it came to coaching.

Portland suffers from being a small market but no way I would have let L.A walk for nothing. They are still trying to find a replacement. Nurkic Is not the answer. Time will tell if Zack can develop into a #1 post option. Cj Mccollum developed nicely but they traded Will Barton who could have played the 3 or supersub like Eric Gordon 4 the rockets. Not to mention all the bad contracts they handed out in recent years. The blazers had a chance to be really solid but blew it.

Aldridge left the same reason Durant left…you guys gotta be smarter than this.

People see the Spurs and now the Warriors and want the ball to move the same way.

Nobody wants to play pickup gym ball in the NBA, basically watch one guy overshoot and not make the good passes.

It amazes me how so many people get caught up in the guy that throws up a lot of trash shots and some fall so they get excited.  NOBODY in the league is as efficient as Curry.  Lillard can get hot, but he isn’t consistent like Curry and he doesn’t pass the ball like Curry.

Aldridge and Durant knew they needed more touches so they bounced from Westbrook and Lillard.

What Westbrook and Lillard need ideally is Clint Capela and a coach smart enough to coach a Clint Capela.  Aldridge is a ball stopper, Steven Adams is a nice fit for Westbrook.  Durant left because he shouldve shot the ball a lot more, but hey, Westbrook did his thing.

Its great to be a star, but you care more abotu winning than being a star.  If I was an NBA player, a really good NBA player like Durant or Aldridge and not Steven Adams or Clint Capela, I’d expect to get touches and get shots up.

Y’all act like Embiid would be the answer in Portland.  No, he woudln’t.  Not if Lillard keeps throwing up bad shots.

Dude, do you even watch basketball? Aldridge averaged over 4 more shots a game than Lillard did during their time together. Aldridge was without question the centerpiece of their offense, Lillard just took over when they needed him to. That post was ridiculous.

You have no clue about what your talking about. L.A’s main reason 4 leaving was to head back to his home state. Pop sold him on being carrying the torch from Duncan but LA is no Tim Duncan. That’s why he was struggling his 1st couple years as a Spur and wanted to be traded. Classic case of Grass is not Greener on the other side.

As for Kd he had every chance to close GS out the year before. And could have Gave Gs a run for their money a year before if they didn’t get hit with injuries.  KD just got tired of being 1B to Lebron, and everyone kept saying that okcs window was about to close to win a ring and not to mention the Marketing Potential The bay area has over an Okc and Yes Easy rings playing alongside Curry, Klay, Dray.

he throws up a lot of bad shots.

What separates Curry from him is that Curry is a great passer with great vision and knows when to get his teammates involved.

Lillard is lucky to have McCollum on his team as the team-conscious guard.  I haven’t seen Lillard take a shot he didn’t like…

Westbrook has the greatest athleticism in the league meaning he can get to the rim at will, Lillard doesn’t have that.

Kyrie is just a far more efficient scorer and a better passer overall.

Lillard has never impressed me.  He’s undersized and he puts up a lot of bad shots.  He has the confidence of an all-star player, not the game.

You truly are blind. Lillard is a very willing passer and C.J is a bail me out passer. Damian is playing with only one other shooter in the starting lineup. Turner, Aminu and Nurkic can’t shoot from 3 with any consistency or at all.

No disrespect to Russ, but he had no business hinting/mentioning Dame shouldn’t have been an all-star.

It’s petty and unnecessary. I understand sticking up for your teammate…but you’re going to hint at the ONE guy who has been unjustly snubbed the past couple of years? Give me break.

The Thunder have underachieved, and it’s laughable to think PG deserves to be in the ASG over Dame. If there’s somebody I wouldn’t have left off, it would be CP3. In exchange for who, I’m not exactly sure but probably Draymond.

I think a rule for having no more than 3 all stars on a team would be great and discourage this super team fad that has been going on.

I agree and disagree with the OP. Dame and PG should have definitely made it, but of course being in the West makes it so tough to make the All-Star squad. But I do believe Draymond deserves to be an All-Star as much as Dame or PG. I guess it depends on what you believe the criteria of what an All-Star should be. But I think people are quick to say Draymond doesn’t deserve it because he’s not or even close to a 20ppg scorer, and he’s not someone that’s exciting to watch because he’s not a highlight dunker or a marksman three point shooter. But many believe DeAndre and Drummond should be or have been All-Stars while not being near 20ppg scorers. I know both are great rebounders and good rim protectors to pick up where their offense lacks. But people want them in the All-Star game because they are freak athletes that can throw down some fun All-Star game dunks while Draymond is just there doing nothing great, but everything well. I’m not saying those guys didn’t deserve it either. I thought Drummond was for sure getting in for the East, but why do a lot of people think they deserve it and a guy like Draymond doesn’t? No he doesn’t have star power, but based on his production on defense, distributing, scoring when needed, and just making the right plays on the best team in the league I think he deserves it. Not an exciting All-Star but he deserves to be one. Again, if PG would have made it instead of Draymond I would have been surprised, just like I was when PG was left off, but not apalled. It’s the West, someones getting left out and the Thunder haven’t played as expected when those three got together.

Lillard is the blazers franchise player, PG13 is westbrook 2nd fiddle, the pacers are overachievers, the thunder are not.

If it was between Lillard and PG13, it’s the right choice.

Westbrook should understand that, or he should take a shot at a warrior before dame…
