McWinningParticipantcontinued since the last one got deleted. im hearing that the Jazz are still trying to trade Carlos Boozer to the Knicks, or Heat!
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:15am #192420
d-grizzlyParticipanti hope he lands in the heat! after the heat get odom!
i really hope both of these things happen.
chalmers, wade, beasely, boozer, o’neal – 6th man, ODOM!
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:17am #192421
McWinningParticipantthat would be a good team but im not sure if their gonna be able to get Odom!
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:20am #192422
d-grizzlyParticipantwell l.a is on the clock right now. if they don’t give an offer that would give more than the heat in the next day or so, i could see the heat stealing him.
3/27 mill – state income tax also
vs
5/34 mill – opt on 4th year optional = much better due to the fact that there’s no income tax in miami. this means odom makes more money in miami and gets a longer contract.0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:21am #192423
gatorheelsParticipantI am ready to see where Sessions, Big Baby, & McCants all end up.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:22am #192424
McWinningParticipantyeah but hed have a better chance of winning a title in La so it would be close. does anyone have any news of Marvin Williams?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:23am #192427
d-grizzlyParticipantwatch ny or lac steal sessions. i just can’t see milwauke keeping the guy with a young talent in jennings.
i expect to see big baby stay in boston, giving them enough front court to wear out the lakers.
mccants will be signed before the season starts, would anybody be surprised if he ended up in the east?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:24am #192428
d-grizzlyParticipantmccants in chicago would give him a lot of minutes and shots to take.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:25am #192430
McWinningParticipanti think Mcants should go to Utah they need a shooting guard.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:27am #192432
gatorheelsParticipantMcCants has worked out for Dallas, Philly, & Atlanta so far but they haven’t made him any offers yet. Out of those 3 teams I think he fits in best with Philly. There will be several more teams that become interested though I believe.
I think Big Baby is going to leave Boston. Somebody is going to offer this guy something the Celtics won’t want to match. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a sign&trade either. The Nets are interested….they seem like a perfect fit for Glen.
I agree I do think Sessions will end up with the Knicks or Clippers. Warriors have a slight chance to get him too. I definitely don’t see him staying with the Bucks.
I hope Odom goes to Miami because it weakens the Lakers. I don’t want to see LA win it all again. Plus poor Wade needs a lot of help.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:28am #192433
d-grizzlyParticipantthat would work too. korver is so-so.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:29am #192434
gatorheelsParticipantHa I hate the Jazz even though he would finally get playing time & be on a playoff team. I am praying the Bulls become interested since they are one of my favorite teams.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:31am #192436
McWinningParticipanti think the Bulls should go after Big Baby. then they could start Big Baby and Thomas could back up the 3 % 4 spots. i think its a good fit.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:32am #192437
d-grizzlyParticipantya, i don’t wanna see l.a repeat…or even have the chance for another 3peat for yearsssss.
gator, you think mccants would fit in chicago? he could easily take bg’s role..mccants needs the chance to show the league he can shoot the lights out.
odom in miami might be enough to garuntee wade signing an extension. if odom went to miami…..i could see them finding a way to get boozer.. and with growing talents in chalmers and beasely, and one year left with o’neal, the heat could go after a strong big next summer and have a solid lineup and (( strong )) playoff push in 2010-2011.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:32am #192438
gatorheelsParticipantDid u see Tyrus & Davis play against each other in the playoffs? They used to be good friends but they acted like they hated each other in the playoffs. I’m not sure both of them competing for a starting job against each other would be a good thing.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:32am #192439
IndianaBasketballParticipantThis is off subject, but did Aran finally get rid of that annoying ass dude???
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:33am #192441
McWinningParticipanthe did i think.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:35am #192442
gatorheelsParticipantdgrizzly- yeah Chicago is a perfect fit for McCants. He is better than Pargo or Hinrich in my opinion. I’m not being biased either.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:37am #192444
d-grizzlyParticipanti’d start mccants in chicago’s lineup….only in deng wasn’t healthy. other wise deng starts and slide salmons to the 2.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:37am #192445
gatorheelsParticipantThe problem with Chicago though is that Salmons will probably move to SG this year since Deng is finally healthy. McCants would still come off the bench.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:38am #192446
gatorheelsParticipantHaha we both typed the same thing
I wish the Bulls would trade Hinrich & Salmons or Deng
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:43am #192449
McWinningParticipantid take Hinrich over Mcants hes a way better defender.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:44am #192450
d-grizzlyParticipanti have no bias towards mccants. i know he’s (( capable )) of becoming a shoot-the-lights-out Sg in the league. His trade value is not as strong as hinrich, but the kid is good.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:44am #192447
IndianaBasketballParticipantMcCants better than Hinrich and Pargo? Lol yea, that’s biased buddy. I disagree 100%. McCants has done nothing major since coming out of North Carolina. His best season was in 2007-2008, but other than that, he hasn’t shown me much. IMO… Williams, Felton, May and McCants have all be disappointments considering all of the hype they were riding entering the draft. Felton has played okay and Williams has picked it up as of late, but they’ve been disappointments in my book.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:45am #192451
gatorheelsParticipantI agree they have all been disappointing. Hinrich & Pargo haven’t showed me much. I know what McCants is capable of. Like I’ve said before he has been stuck on 2 bad teams with bad systems & bad coaches..not too mention having a serious knee injury. Dude is a sleeper.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:47am #192452
IndianaBasketballParticipantLOL I got a negative one for speaking the truth. Y’all are lame. What has McCants done? I mean, in 2007-2008 he did well as the 6th man in Minny, but other than that… What has he done??? He’s about to be on his 4th team since he was drafted in 2005. He’s a good shooter, not GREAT. He doesn’t rebound, assist or play D. Why should he start??? Once again… Please state a few facts or reasoning behind your statements.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:49am #192453
d-grizzlyParticipantif you give the kid some real minutes then other aspects of his game will arrise. i think a solid 20mpg or more on a young team in need of a SG that can shoot would be perfect for mccants.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:50am #192454
IndianaBasketballParticipantI mean, I’m not saying he doesn’t have any talent because he does. He just hasn’t done anything since entering the league. He’s never even played 82 games in a season. In three seasons, he’s played less than 40 games. I mean, give me something to work w/ here!
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:52am #192455
d-grizzlyParticipanti can agree with you about the fact that he’s never done anything. but if you get low minutes on poor teams that don’t have respectable knowledgable coaches, you’re gonna play like $hit.
the thing is, putting him in chicago would be a good move for the bulls. they need a shooter.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:57am #192456
gatorheelsParticipantHe hasn’t got any minutes & has had some scary games scoring. He has a lot of potential. Like I said he was stuck on 2 HORRIBLE teams that had bad coaches. The knee injury was very serious that definitely slowed his development. McCants can play defense even though he isn’t great at it. I mean he has a 6’11” wingspan. He does need to become a better passer.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:58am #192457
IndianaBasketballParticipantKirk Hinrich is a better player period. He’s a better shooter in EVERY FACET. He’s a better passer, playmaker, rebounder and MUCH better defender. There’s a reason Hinrich guards the other teams best offensive guard and even small forward. The numbers don’t lie. McCants can’t even stay healthy let alone get significant playing time. Janero Pargo played EXTREMELY well w/ NO, especially during the 2007-2008 NBA Playoffs. I’d go w/ Pargo over McCants also. McCants just hasn’t shown me much.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:00am #192460
gatorheelsParticipantI didn’t give u a negative point tezo. We will just have to see how all three of these guys play this year. Don’t write off McCants yet. If he goes to a good team & still can’t contribute then I will give up on him. But he definitely has not had a fair chance yet.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:02am #192458
IndianaBasketballParticipant“He has a lot of potential.” That phrase gets coaches and GMS FIRED buddy. I hope McCants bounces back, but to say he’s better than Kirk??? That’s blasphemy lol.
P.S. And one of you two need to give me back my point ;-)… Thanks.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:04am #192461
IndianaBasketballParticipantI won’t write him off, but he needs to show something!!! I hope he does. I’m not a hater at all.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:06am #192463
gatorheelsParticipantI wouldn’t say Hinirch is a better rebounder than McCants either. McCants is a much better scorer. McCants has better length & is more athletic. Hinrich shoots a higher % but that is because he has way better talent surrounding him. McCants is just as good of as a shooter if not better I promise you.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:10am #192467
knicksfreakParticipantUhoh. Gatorheels is talking about McCants. haha. I love McCants but I have to give it to Hinrich. McCants is the better shooter but I think Hinrich pulls ahead in just about every other category. Hinrich is a great on the ball defender as well as a very good distributor. Its a hard comparison because McCants is undersized for the 2 and Hinrich is a point even though he plays 2 next to Rose sometimes now. I dont think McCants is a starter but he could be a very good 6th man.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:11am #192468
IndianaBasketballParticipantWe’ll see bro! I hope McCants gets in the right situation where he can display his talent.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:13am #192471
bballdave3ParticipantI’ve always like Rashad Mccants, but come on with the comparison to kirk hinrich, Kirk has proved something in this league, he’s a great defender and has a good offensive game, Are you really trying to tell me Minnesota didn’t give an opportunity for Mccants to succeed, he has failed to make an impact and his work ethic is constantly questioned. Please your bias is quite transparent, I think in the right situation he can be a decent player but until he makes more of a significant accomplishment in the league then having a great dunk on Marcus Camby and following it up with a T, you need to wait out the praise.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:19am #192477
gatorheelsParticipantIf I was to say McCants was better than somebody like Joe Johnson then that would be biased. Kirk Hinirch is way overrated. By the way sorry to keep talking about McCants but Tezo started it hahaha. I know for a fact he didn’t get a fair chance with the TWolves for one he got hurt, for two McHale hated him. Also his work ethic is actually good. He works out everyday & eats right.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:22am #192481
gatorheelsParticipantThe same thing is happening to Corey Brewer in Minnesota. Look at almost all of the TWolves draft picks lately…they all have dissapointed. Randy Foye. Just because Minnesota can’t win they give up on their players quickly when really it is the system & poor coaches.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:28am #192488
bballdave3ParticipantKirk’s got 4 years in the playoffs averaging 16 ppg and had a great series in eliminating the defending champ Miami Heat, I’m usually a fan of your posts gatorheels but there have been no real accomplishments for Rashad yet, your whole argument is based on a wait and see approach, which is fine he may even pan out to having some good years elsewhere, but right now you need to hold off, I say all of this without Kirk Hinrich being my icon, this is just based on success in the league.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:44am #192506
gatorheelsParticipantI agree. This is just a wait & see debate. Obviously Hinrich has had more success in the league so far but in my eyes that is not due to him being a better player than McCants. It is simply because he is in a much better system with a better coach with way more talent surrounding him. No big deal… I can see why people would take Hinirch over McCants.
