I’m just wondering how these guys and some other big Euro prospects have being doing as of late.  I can look up the stats, but I’m not quite sure what’s good and what’s not so good in Euroleague.  I’m especially interested in Pleiss, because if he’s coming around then I don’t think the Thunder will be a big player in the trade market.  They stashed Ibaka for a year and waited for him to develop and he has worked out pretty well.

Pleiss is doing well. He’s the starter on the best team in Germany and looks like a pretty nice prospect for the Thunder. He scores, rebounds, blocks shots (last year he led the league in blocked shots) and hustles. He also works on his conditionig, strengh and atleticism which leads to him converting some nice alley oop plays. Plus he gained some experience in the Euroleague. But I don’t know if he’s really that much better than Aldrich.

Rubio’s game isn’t suited for European play. Unfortunately neaither is the triangle offense the Rambis runs. He needs to go back to when the Logo was the ballhandler in the open ended triangle with the Lakeshow. Free flowing fast break team that closed into the triangle when the break wasn’t there. With Darko’s passing, Love’s rebounding and outlet passes, Wes and Beezy on the break and ,Rubio in the Jerry West primary ballhandler role. Not to mention that the bench is pretty decently suited for this style of play with athletese Flynn/Brewer/Ellington/Pekovic. Maybe bring Nemanja over and be a secondary ballhandler/playmaker.Though he and Rubio are really gonna have to develop their three point shots the way Kukoc and Calderon did.
