festar35ParticipantSo looks like Hibbert has lost favour in Indiana and will be on the trading block.
I ask who actually wants him and where would he fit?
One trade I saw was Mayo + Henson, but Bucks would want more than Hibbert in return.
Maybe Boston with a lot of guards will give up one of them and G.Wallace? It will be tough for Indiana to find a trade partner IMO.

BallerScriptParticipantIndiana receives:
- Terry Rozier
- Jared Sullinger
- Avery Bradley
Boston receives:
- Roy Hibbert
- Indiana 17 first round pick
- Indiana 16 second round pick

BostonCs FanParticipantIt doesn’t take a NBA insider to no that Boston will have no interest for Hibbert, just as well as other teams. I don’t think the question is where would he fit? But who are looking to unload some contracts? Teams will only pursue him cause of that massive contract that will be coming off the books.

festar35ParticipantI think for the right price Boston could have an interest, I mean they really need rim protection if they intend to get better and Hibbert offers that. If they needed to go faster they have Zeller, so they could split minutes depending on the opponent.
What’s the right place I am not sure, but I feel it would be Indiana taking back Wallace and Indiana giving up a future 1st rounder.

cryan03ParticipantWhat do you guys think about Memphis has a landing spot if Marc Gasol decides to sign somewhere else this offseason?

festar35ParticipantHe would probably fit their system better than most, but if you took out Gasol to only add Hibbert that kind of see Memphis as a late lottery team more than anything else.

slepchorParticipantWould be nice to see him have a complementary role in a contender. Rotating him for 15-25 mpg would be sweet and would make your frontline elite, but this contract forbids it unfortunately. It could be a nice opportunity to revitalize his career, playing for a team like the rockets or blazers (with aldridge of course) for example, because something is clearly wrong in indiana.

Memphis MadnessParticipantThe Pacers should try to get David Lee, Ezeli, Barbosa, McAdoo, that guy the Warriors took at 30, a future 1st, and a future 2nd for Roy Hibbert.
Lee can score and board to replace David West if he leaves. Then you have Myles Turner and Festus Ezeli as your 2nd and 3rd bigs. Then the Pacers also get some picks for the future.
The Warriors keep their Big Three of Steph, Klay, and Draymond, and guys who I think are essential pieces for their core: Iggy, Harrison Barnes, as well as Bogut (big defensive center) and even Shaun Livingston (big pass first point guard off the bench). Hibbert gives the Warriors the best backup center in the league while not losing much except for depth at the back end of the bench. For the Warriors I would replace Barbosa by taking a flyer on Seth Curry to give Golden State a second unit of Livingston, Seth, Iggy, Mo Speights, and Roy Hibbert. A little less athletic but still a squad that goes 9 deep minimum with a complete second team at best. An extra 3 and D guy and an athletic 4 to defend the pick and roll would fill out the roster.

Memphis MadnessParticipantRoy Hibbert would give the Warriors another guy who could help slow down Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph.
The Warriors got their biggest test out West against Memphis. The grizzlies slow it down and grind it out so Hibbert would help against them. Then he could help out on the East centers like Mozgov/Andy V and Noah/Pau.

HitsterParticipantThe Warriors idea is a good one and Lee could replace a possibly departing David West. Boston would be a natural fit and with Crash Wallace their is a natural salary trade almost there.
Big Roy is only an All Star one year removed and is still only 28 years old, has an excellent injury record so he doesn’t suddenly become a bad player overnight. I was interested to discover that he has never averaged over 30mpg in one season in his career which is surprising for a double All Star on a huge salary.
I also wonder if teams like the Lakers or Knicks might look at him if they cannot get two major FA’s in. The Lakers always liked a big defensive anchor and Big Roy would be a nice fit alongside Randall and or Hill.
I also think Roy would be a decent fit in the triangle at the Garden as he is a decent passer for a guy his size and would be a great anchor behind the Porz.
He only has a year left on his deal so I think a contender with cap space may make a move for hi, at worse they have a nice expiring deal come deadline day.
