Lotto StudParticipantI don’t know the overall consensus on him as a player but he is one I like a lot. Many Mocks and Big Board I’ve seen have him slated in the range of 10-14 but I see the possibility of him going a little higher.
Also I would like to hear views on player comparisons. I see him more similar to Trevor Ariza.

bjcart53ParticipantYeah he is a solid player but he just pulled off one of the biggest flops in American sports history! Duke cheats…I mean wins again

For_Never_EverParticipantYou know my thought on him from what I wrote on your Big Board thread.
He and Trevor Ariza are nothing alike. Trevor calling card from the start is defense, good hands, good stance and moves his feet lateral really well. It took him a few years to be a good spot up set shooter. When he got on the Lakers is when it happened for him. Also he is superior athlete.
I think he’ll be a solid role player or a shooter coming off the bench. He doesn’t blow me away with any one thing. Other then being a very good spot up set shooter. He can play the SF spot in stretches, but not full time. He can’t create for himself and will need to be in a system or with passing guards. Average athlete by NBA standards and isn’t the strongest guy. Defense is the concern and question mark for him at the next level. Can he defends SF’s or PF’s ? If the team can cover up his weaknesses I see him being a James Jones/Robert Horry type of player.

jwall1ParticipantI really like Hood. I think his ceiling is Rashard Lewis in his prime. I think he has the opportunity to make an immediate impact from the get go in the NBA.

ibe12ParticipantI thought I was the only one who compared him to Rashard Lewis. I think he’s the perfect sixth man or third option on a team.

Lotto StudParticipantI don’t think either of us could wrong between the 2 comparisons. If he taps out like he should Lewis would be great for him. I just would hate for him to settle into a spot up shooter like the old version of Lewis.

CameronCrazy11ParticipantI put Rashard Lewis/Sean Elliott as a best case scenario in an earlier topic.
FYI, I’m also a big fan of Rodney’s game. He’s developed a nice jumper to go along with his above average athleticism. He’s a fairly good ball handler for his size as well. One of those guys who’s not really great in one area but is very good in several. I could see him going around 8-10 depending on a team’s particular needs

benny15Participantout of curiousity, whats his worst case scenario? Donte Greene? Dorell Wright?

CameronCrazy11ParticipantYeah probably along the lines of Dorell Wright. Worst case scenario, he is a spot up shooter off the bench. I think playing under Coach K, and honestly sitting out last season, really helped his overall development as a player. His jumper definitely saw significant improvement from his freshman year to his redshirt sophomore year.

HandDownManDown13ParticipantHere’s a couple of guys I see. He’s kind of a unique player because of his upside. He’s really athletic but doesn’t know how to use it.
I kind of see some of Mike Dunleavy prior to injuries. Dunleavy used to be very athletic, and his best season was 19.1/5.2/3.5 on 47/42/87 shooting splits
I think his upside is a non-prime Danny Granger. Very good shooter and can find a jumper anywhere on the floor. Not 25 ppg Granny Danger, but more like his 2011-12 season when he started tailing off.
I think his floor is more like a better version of prime Mo Peterson, with better defense.
Ariza is a nice comparison for his defensive upside, but Hood is a MUCH better shooter. Honestly, Hood is one of the most efficient shooters I’ve ever seen in the NCAA. Factor in his size and athleticism and you’ve got a great prospect. I think he would have been top 3 in this past year’s draft.

Ghost01ParticipantI think he is going to be a very solid pro.
He is a 6’8 guard, he is a lefty, he has an extremely well rounded offensive game, he can attack the rim and is a very good shooter as well.
Defensively, he’s nothing amazing but is still consistent.
I don’t see why he can’t be a long term starter in the NBA, especially with how weak the 2 guard spot is.

usfballerParticipantI have always felt he reminded me of Morris Peterson. Good to great shooter with the requisite athleticism to guard his position. Also, the left handed, low release point J is quite reminiscent of Mo Pete
