    http://www.csnbayarea.com/basketball-sacramento-kings/kings-talk/Report-Robinson-not-going-to-work-out-fo?blockID=727894&feedID=2802

With Robinson and Barnes cancelling workouts, does this mean they both have guarantees in the top 4 or do they just not want to go to SacTown? Could we see Lillard rise up to #5 on draft night? Maybe MKG falls to #5?

    Thoughts?

Robinson seems very likely to go to the Bobcats, Beal to the Wizards, and Barnes to the Cavs. Kings should be excited to get MKG

As good a player MKG is, he simply doesn’t fit in with the Kings.

Evans can’t shoot, Cousins does his work in the paint, Hayes and Thompson are down-low guys.  I thought Barnes would be the better fit because his shooting ability.

Instead, they’re going to be stuck with a team like the 76ers, where nobody can shoot, except without the excellent defense.

I had Barnes going #2 ever since the lotto, but I just switched my top 5 up to go: Davis, Robinson, Beal, Barnes, MKG in that order.

I think Barnes best fit is Charlotte, Beal’s best fit is Washington, MKG’s best fit is Cleveland, and Robinson’s best fit is Sacramento, but it doesn’t look like it’ll work out that way.

I’m pretty sure Robinson works out for Charlotte tomorrow, so I think it’s basically his spot to lose right now at #2.

It seems like the 4 players expected to go 2-5 all seem to think they are going top 4.  Obviously someone is going to be left out but it shouldn’t be that big of a deal.  I think MKG would be the most likely to fall to 5 followed by Beal, Barnes, T-Rob in that order.  I think the highest Lillard goes is 6 with 11 being the lowest.

not a "guarantee" or "promise" in the premise we use it here, but they are pretty confident that they are going in the top 4.  if for whatever reason there is slippage, Sac still could pick one of them.  There are times where teams select players that didnt workout for them.

I think Tyrober’s scenario is a likely one with T-Rob/Clt, Beal/Wash, and Barnes/Cle….it also could be…Barnes/Clt, T-Rob/Wash, and Beal/Cle.  The latter is the one that I think works best for everyone…but it will depend on the Charlotte setting the stage with the 2nd pick.

If any of these happen, I think we have our answer on who slips.  Its MKG.  I would think Sac would go for Drummond, Portland could go for Lillard….and MKG could land at GSW which would be a good situation for him.

I know the Warriors badly would like you to be right.

take him. The Kings will take someone with his defensive abilities especially on a team with the worst defense in the league. Also, his ability to play off the ball will complement the plethora of scorers they already have on the team. Drummond is a project and the Kings want to start winning now, not wait 3-4 years. I heard they like Lillard as well.  All the Kings need to do is put complimentary pieces around Cousins, he’ll do the rest.

I think the Kings should get Drummond…I think he would work very well next to Cousins…They may want to start winning now but that doesn’t mean they have the tools to start winning now….Defense is their biggest need and I believe Drummond can at least protect the paint a bit while he develops his game…I would also welcome MKG because he seems like the team player/tough defense type….We could use a scorer but one isn’t a dire need in my opinion with Thornton/Thomas/Evans/Cousins on the team

Then i think the Kings will trade out. MKG should bring back a ton of offers. How about this:

    Three team trade between ATL-G.S.-SAC

SAC gets- Josh Smith and a future 1st round pick from G.S.

G.S. gets- #5(MKG) and a contract (like Salmons)

ATL gets- #7, #30 and Richard Jefferson or Dorrell Wright(whoever they like more)

Sac gets a proven vet PF to put alongside Cousins, G.S. gets their small forward they want and ATL gets to start adding some young cap friendly pieces for Smith, whom they wont have the money to resign anyways.

    Any thoughts?

If Davis, T-Rob, Beal, Barnes and Drummond go top 5, Portland could use the way the draft falls to their advantage. Knowing GSW covet MKG, they could take him and ask GSW to take Lillard with view to trade, but only if GSW throw in another draft pick or player.
