anybody else follow these invite only summer runs on youtube? Everyone shows up to these runs it seems. Just off top of my head from this summer ive seen lebron, durant, westbrook, harden, ben simmons, norman powell, fred van fleet, luke kennard, pascal saikam, timofey mozgov, julius randle, rudy gobert, kevon looney, jordan bell, buddy hield, marvin bagley, tyler ennis, tristan thompson, dante exum… know im forgetting a few

and thats just guys i recall having seen on youtube and i havent seen close to all the vids.

Also lots of former players like artest, mobley, baron davis etc..

And lots of current college guys inlcuding current bruins. Its one of the selling points ucla uses when recruiting athletes, they tell them they get auto invites to play in the runs and get to go vs pro comp regularly.

anyone needing a basketball fix and has some down time should check them out

Tried getting into the gym to watch them play and got kicked out. Ironic because there’s a sign outside that says "Student ID needed to enter gym" and yet they kicked the only student that was in there out of the gym. But I stayed around to player watch as they came and went, and there was a ton of NBA talent there. Just off the top of my head I’ve seen Biyombo, Zbo, Drummond, Chris Copeland (super nice guy btw), Austin Rivers, and most of the Raptors and Pistons there. It’s really fun to watch online (would’ve been even better in person) because it’s so competitive and you get to watch these players in a more informal setting where they’re just let loose. In the NBA you usually see these guys plugged into roles, but when they’re just running fives they can show off  a bunch of stuff that they don’t usually get the chance to. Guys like Buddy Hield are constantly torching defenses there, and it’s going to be interesting to see if they can carry it into the NBA season.

    Absolutely!

There have also been great runs in NY (Black Ops Basketball), Miami (Remy Workouts) and a couple of others.

It takes some people to watch these guys in an open run setting to realize just how f’n ridiculous they are . . . Even a guy who’s barely in the league. Facts are . . . These guys are special and making the NBA isn’t easy. These guys work extremely hard at their craft.

I saw one video where Kelly Olynyk dismantled guys. Off the catch, dribble, dunking . . . It didn’t even matter. There have even been open runs here in Indianapolis I’ve seen with Lance Stephenson, Glenn Robinson III, Yogi Ferrell, Kris Wilkes and other former NBA players/overseas guys . . . And they’re all just too damn good. I took my 10 year old son to watch a couple to show just how hard you have to work to be a great player.

I watched some, I saw some interesting thing. Westbrook is huge and his jumper look changed, PG is 100% healtly and look craftier than ever and Buddy Hield is a breakout candidate this year

Devin Booker has also been a regular. I watch them every night and as it gets deeper into the summer teams have multiple guys going together. The Raptors entire 2nd unit has been playing together there, Utah has Burks & Exum, Detroit had a full 5 recently, OKC had Westbrook PG Adams & Schroeder go together. Buddy Hield, Ben McLemore and Zbo from SAC, I’ve even seen a few Seth Curry sightings.

As far as getting in, good luck. I used to go to them a couple times a week when I was a sophmore/junior in college (the LaVine, Shabazz, Anderson days) I had met Slow-mo at a workout and he invited me up. Fun and competitive runs…while some NBA guys would come workout there regularly, it was mostly players from the city and you would see a random star appearance once in a while. Over the last 2 years though they’ve blown up and the invite only has been enforced much more. Unless you’re a pro or play at UCLA, chances are you won’t be allowed in.
