Reports stating that Kemba is more likely to leave than stay

I like it. Don't want him to spend more time in this awful franchise. Where do you guys expect him to play ? Knicks is a possibility if they don't get Kyrie. I also think Lakers are also possible suitor if they don't land Kyrie. Thoughts ?

Whats with the NY / Lakers

Whats with the NY / Lakers obsession on here ? They are not in playoff contention, let alone contending.

Every second possible FA is possibly going to these 2 teams. Hornets are an awful franchise ? Are the Knicks actually any better ?

The Knicks just landed a quality PG and possible all star in dennis smith, why would they go after another PG.

Orlando are a young team in playoff contention, how about orlando ?

The Lakers have the biggest

The Lakers have the biggest fanbase and biggest star in the league, and are in the midst of a season where the failed in trying to compete with one-hand behind their back (trying to keep max cap room for this summer). The Knicks gave away Porzingis for the opportunity to chase stars.

Indiana could be a deep sleeper depending on how much Bojan and Young costs, or if one of them leaves.

Indiana could free up about

Indiana could free up about $51mil in cap space, $58 if they move McDermott who is still very talented but not really a fit with the Indiana roster.

You give Kemba the max which is about $32mil first year & still potentially have $26mil for Bogdanovic & Young ($16/$10 - annually over 2-3yrs)

Pacers would have:

C. Turner

PF. Young

SF. Bogdanovic

SG. Oladipo

PG. Walker

Bench: Sabonis, Holiday, Leaf, Sumner & maybe throw the MLE to Wesley Matthew's to retain him. This would be a pretty impressive 10-man rotation.

I think $16 million per

I think $16 million per season is a great offer to Bogdanovic. However, unless Young is willing to take a paycut, it's going to take more than $10 million per season to retain him. I'm thinking it'll have to be around $14 million per season.

I'd love for Walker to sign here though. The Pacers would have to let go of two *GREAT* team guys in Collison and Joseph to make it happen, but I think it'd make the Pacers a better team.

Is Young that important to

Is Young that important to the team? Whats his value to the Pacers?

Maybe Bogdanovic slide to 4 and let the Pacers be players in the offseason by letting Young go. They can draft someone to get in some minutes at PF to.

Current mock shoes Grant Williams, PJ Washington and Nicolas Claxton would all be available at that range. Not sure I believe that but even guys like Brandon Clarke and Aric Holman could be real good fits. Indiana is one of the few teams I think a young player could make that pro transition fairly quickly, and Alize Johnson is a guy that maybe able to step up next year as well.

The Pacers would take a major

The Pacers would take a major step back defensively if they don’t resign Young. While Myles Turner has been great defensively, Young is the team’s most versatile defender. He defends positions 1-4, sometimes 5 depending on the lineup. He’s an underrated defensive player.

He’s shooting the ball well this season, plays the game the right way and is a major team guy. Both him & Bogdanovic are priorities in my opinion.

I guess the switch on

I guess the switch on everything era has actually benefitted Young despite not being a great shooter. Nice to hear.

Doesnt make sense anyways to try and free up space by letting him go. I thought this was the year the cap went up to 120 but its only at 110 so if they made all the moves previously mentioned and didnt resign Young they would only be left with about $40 mil space. Not enough for two of the max guys anyways.

I can't say full about the knicks/l.a thing...

The knicks-He is from there so the home appeal may be there.

L.A-Depends on if the A.D trade happens...IF A.D trade happens one assumes Lonzo is gone somewhere either to Pelicans or to 3rd team to get Ball there...So this means they would probably either throw big dollars at Kyrie or Kemba to get their 3rd option...

I personally agree with you DSJ does the exact samethings as Kemba so it is sort of a head scratcher...Unless you believe Kemba is the starter and DSJ is the 6th man you need?See Dennis S and Russ to sort of how it could work..

Kemba makes sense in Orlando as they don't have a P.G + His old coach is there..

The reason people think he will leave the Hornets is this: They are capped out into mediocrity..To good for a high pick and too bad to really make any legit playoff noise..Hence the proposed move,He is a loyal guy and seems like he wants to get paid but at what point does he go get me out of here? When he is old and washed or does he want to be a 1 franchise kind of guy..

Has anyone heard if Kemba is

Has anyone heard if Kemba is buddies with any of the other top level FAs as they could look to go to a team as a package. I'm not sure how LBJ and Kemba would work together as both need the ball but the chance to play with LBJ would likely interest him. The Clippers are a team who could make a bold move for him. Brooklyn could like the Clippers possibly get a top running mate alongside him.

The Pacers have cap space and Orlando as mentioned above.

Total wildcard is my team Phoenix if we don't draft Morant and luck in on Zion then that might be tempting for him.

How it could work..

Kemba being used ala Kyrie in cleveland mould.

Clippers I say no thank you they have Shai who is their P.G and doing a fine job he is also a) alot cheaper and b) younger with no injury history vs walker. I would also argue having Pat Bev off the bench gives him a steadying mentor. They are better off going after Kawhi or Butler if they had to go after someone...Assuming K.D doesn't troll us all and go there lol.

Suns make sense if they don't get ball via trade(the perfect P.G to pair with Booker IMO) he also gives them a vet voice in the locker room with a similar personality it seems.

Pacers-I don't understand why people like this move well unless you believe V.O is done for a very longtime and think Kemba can hold the fort until he is back at 100%

Magic also make sense as Clifford knows him.

Yep. Im tellin yah Dallas is landing someone. They will be in the mix with every free agent. Its a respected Franchise with two other highly marketable players, an excellent coach, an owner willing to spend that knows his shit and its a no tax state. Best situation to make money, best situation to win lonterm.

Pacers! We need a PG, primary

Pacers!

We need a PG, primary scorer & another All-Star talent. He checks all those boxes & we can clear cap space to offer him the max.

I get pairing with another superstar may seem attractive, but Indiana is a team that he could fit right in with & immediately compete.

I'm surprised to hear this to

I'm surprised to hear this to be honest. I still think he's a strong chance of staying. If he goes, a lot will depend on the drafting order and selections, but I definitely think New York and Dallas would both have strong chances, perhaps Orlando as well if the state taxes, coach Clifford and the team positional need are enough to sway him.

It was quoted by Sam Amick. Literally would have taken you 30 secs to google but you're welcome. The fact that they will miss they playoffs probably didn't help the Hornets chances at retaining him too

I think Kemba Walker would

I think Kemba Walker would actually make a great running buddy for Anthony Davis. Whichever can land BOTH would be in the money.

Probably a better combo than Durant and Kyrie at least in terms of fit, and Kemba looks like he is lower maintence than Kyrie and Durant. AD just really needs a change of scenery.

I mean its funny because

I mean its funny because during the Allstar game draft Lebron didnt even give Walker a chance. Wanted no part of him despite the guy being unrestricted. Pretty sure a core of Walker, Lebron and Davis would have the potential to be the best Lebron tem right up there with those Heat teams really. But did Lebron know something we dont?

Kemba....

Depends on what the guy wants:

Money-Hornets

Loyalty-As long as they repay the favor Hornets.

Home-Knicks,They make average sense unless they believe DSJ can be mentored by Kemba and DSJ can handle a 6th man role...

Lakers if he wants to be Lebrons 3rd option...But big city lifestyl

Magic/Hornets if he wants to play for a coach that knows his game.

Then it comes down does he want to go elevate a team or super team:

Elevate a team:

Suns he could be the point guard that possibly plays well with Booker...

Utah nice core but missing something could be interesting with mitchel

Pistons...If they could somehow move Reggie and something else to get the $ would be an interesting fit with Blake and Andre..Plus I could see Cassey opening his game up a little ala Kyle Lowry..

Go to a contender:

Celtics if Kyrie Bolts(highly possible) then I could maybe see them offering him reasonable dollars.

Spurs: Who could either make him a better version of Kyle lowry to pair with Derozen or their new T.Parker..

Raptors if Lowry is traded away due to length of deal left...

Jazz

PG who can hit shots changes this team and puts them in the punchers chance to win a title conversation.
