Nothing has been reported by ESPN or Woj so im not sure what's going on here ? Knew it was coming soon - you

Knew it was coming soon - you just can't play about 100 games (including playoffs) each year without it catching up with you eventually

OhCanada... wouldn't say he's

OhCanada... wouldn't say he's done. That would be shocking. Cover of Time Magazine stuff. But I was in SoCal when Magic made his stunning retirement announcement. I remember when Jordan quit the first time.

LeBron is on the downside of his career now. Harden/Greek Freak/Russ and those Warriors guys have the torch now with Luka Legend in hot pursuit.

Come to think of it: a LOT of legends had the wheels totally come off as Lakers: Baylor. Kareem (old as dirt but still). Magic. Worthy. Karl Malone. Kobe. Going further back you could put George Mikan in that category too. He went out quicker than a frozen wooly mammoth.

all the players you named

all the players you named spent many years in LA, won championships, and has some of their best years there. That they happened to decline there has nothing to do with the team and everything to do with age.

Can a sports hernia heal on its own?

The pain from a sports hernia will usually go away in a few weeks with self-care. Your provider may recommend stretching and exercises to help you heal. ... If rest and self-care don't relieve your symptoms after 6 weeks, your healthcare provider may suggest surgery.

Rehab may include:

  • 6-8 weeks modified play
  • Pain Modifying Modalities (ice, heat, electrical stimulation, etc)
  • Sports Massage/ Deep Tissue Work
  • Core Endurance Exercises
  • Breathing Exercise For Intra-Abdominal Pressure “Recalibration”
  • Progressive Hip Strengthening
  • Hip Mobility Exercises
  • Correction And Gradual Loading Of Movement Patterns (squats, deadlift, push, pull, carry)
  • Unilateral Training With An Anti-Rotational Consideration
  • Graded Exposure To Sports Specific Movements
  • Gradual Return To Play With At-Home Progressive Rehabilitation

Surgery is suggested if rehab is unsuccessful. The great news is surgery can be extremely successful but I would caution to not jump in too fast.

Do the Lakers make playoffs

Do the Lakers make playoffs without him?

Right after he left it there were some tragic games. I think they were leaning too hard on him that they couldn’t deal when he wasn’t there. The last two games they looked pretty good for the whole game without him, something they’ve rarely done all year even with him.

If LeBron is out all year, shouldn’t they be hoping for the lottery?

Not at all. These young guys

Not at all. These young guys need to learn to win. It would be much more beneficial to get a pick in the 14 - 20 range and get playoff experience rather than a 10 - 14 pick and have a 30% win percentage for the rest of the year.

Where is the Bold Predictions thread?

I definitely predicted Lebron getting injured this year and the Lakers missing the Playoffs, as dominant as James has been the wear and tear catches up to every mortal, and the Lakers are just no good without him

The sports hernia injury

The sports hernia injury still hasn’t been confirmed by any reliable sources so I am not going to assume it’s true. If that does turn out to be the case, it would be a tough break for this season. However, it’s not in any way a career threatening injury and as long as it heals properly, shouldn’t impact his career or the team’s long-term plans in any way really.

No sports hernia he had a

No sports hernia he had a minor groin strain. He is set to return in 4 games Lakers announced today, which is in another week. That puts him right at the end of a minor groin strain recovery time of 2-3 weeks. If he had a sports hernia or groin tear, which was originally feared when he said he heard a pop he would be out at least 4 months.
