EspressoParticipantSo as we pretty much all know, during playoff time the refs "swallow the whistle" and let the game become more physical. I really feel like during regular season, late in games, the refs are way more bound to "swallow the whistle".
I think it would be much better for the game if the refs always swallowed the whistle, as it would result in a more consistent game/ product. On top of making it more reliable for the players to adjust their game around a foul call.
Im not trying to complain about officiating, just offering a solution to better improve it. Im also not vouching for the refs to allow hand checking out there, just more consistant officiating.

OhCanada-ParticipantA tighter whistle would be best for the game. Let them get more physical.

zcnumerounoParticipantYeah, can the refs just "swallow the whistle" for every game, for both the regular season and postseason? I prefer a more physical game and this consistency would only improve the public and player view of NBA officials.

holefillers1ParticipantLate whistles on touch fouls against superstars and guys that are known drivers. Its like the refs blow their whistle when they realize who has the ball. Ex: Was that Steph Curry on the take?…blllleeee(whistle sound)
Also I feel like this attempt to stop the and one continuation is a way to bail out the refs on these biased calls. As in, at least that shit call won’t result in three points.
