I’ve come up with a trading scenrio that I think helps both teams. Philly is looking to unload one of their bigs and Toronto is looking to compete right now.

    Toronto sends:

Terrence Ross+9th pick in the draft and 2017 Second round pick

    Philly sends:

    Nerlens Noel+Robert Covington

Colangelo drafted T-Ross and needs perimeter scoring. They also could use a higher pick to go along with Simmons/Ingram. Toronto Resigns Derozan and Biyombo and Covington becomes the 6th man. He started in Philly, but will clearly be the 6th man in Toronto. Terrence Ross will likely be the starting SG in Philly.

Toronto with their 27th pick selects Thon Maker. He is the project big that will replace Lucas Nogeria.

    JV/Biyombo/Maker

    Noel/Patterson/FA

    Carrol/Covington/Bruno

    Derozan/Powell/FA

    Lowry/Joseph/Wright

Sorry as a Sixers I would be highly upset if the made this move. I have no interest in Ross and they is a pretty weak draft so I place little value on the 9th pick.

You said it. Let me add:
      * Noel is one of the best defenders already at 22 y/o. So I definitely wouldn’t trade him for this insulting offer.
      * Covington is better than Ross. So I wouldn’t trade them straight up. Covington is a slightly better shooter and a much better defender. He has a higher assist rate & rebounding rate and is overall a better player with higher upside. Covington’s wingspan is 7 inches longer than Ross’s!! (7’2 to 6’7).

Such a dumb dumb one sided trade proposal. I’m going to take a shower.

Toronto does need to upgrade it’s power forward position, but they need someone who can stretch the floor (this is why Scola started in the regular season). Noel is not a good fit as it will be just like having another Biyombo. However, an interesting idea is Toronto trading for Saric as he could be more of a stretch 4. I really don’t know what Toronto would have to trade for him (value is kind of up in the air).

I would do that trade for Saric anyday whether or not he comes over this year but I would also try to get a late 1st if Saric he doesn’t plan on suiting up for next season. He really would be a perfect fit in Toronto. Point forward that can shoot dribble rebound and pass. Exactly what they need. I think he’s off limits though, there’s no way I would trade him if I owned his rights.

Let me guess, you’re a Raptors fan… Wouldn’t trade Cov. for Ross straight up. 2nd round picks are useless and you want them to throw in Noel for 9th pick? In a terrible draft? Only way Tor. gets Noel is with package centered around Kyle Lowry.

straight up. Saric for 9th pick.

Sixers can then aim for  Malachi Richardson or hope Dunn/Hield drops enough to get to 9.

Saric is more highly thought of than any player expected to still be there at 9. Saric is younger than Dunn with a way better health history. No way the Sixers make that trade.

I could actually see Philly doing this if either Dunn or Murray slipped to the 9th pick, then they could fill out their team nicely with Dunn/Murray, Ross, Simmons/Ingram, Saric, Okafor/Embiid, plus their two late picks which they could use on a 3 and D type (Prince, Luwawu) and maybe BPA that isn’t a C. Toronto would probably trade Ross for Covington straight up, and Noel would be very good return on the 9th pick in a weak draft (and they wouldn’t value Dunn or Murray as much as Philly, despite the temptation to draft the hometown kid). Otherwise I don’t think Philly would do this.

Does Terrence Ross have positive trade value at this point, given his lack of progress and contract?

He’s owed $31.5M over the next three seasons, which seems like a lot even with the salary cap increase.

I’m not interested in Terrence Ross or really the No. 9 pick. If we were talking the 6 or 7, I may be interested. Then again, Bryan Colangelo is an idiot, so he might be.

and it’s not a horrible trade. I think People need to stop typing phrases like "Philly is looking to unload one of its bigs"…………and "this deal clears the logjam at center for Philly"………..as if the agenda is to give away one of Okafor or Noel. Bleep guys, Okafor and Noel have pretty good value, quit freakin dreaming about BC giving one of them to your team.

This guy is trying to be the complete opposite of Hinkie and making sure everyone knows it. Between doing an interview with anyone who asks, to opening workouts to telling everyone we’re trading a big guy, he is screwing us. Has telling other teams you want to trade someone ever worked as far as getting value? No. Whoever we trade, it’s going to end with us getting the short end of the deal.

A solid trade.  Biyambo is gone, so Noel being added who can do a lot more makes sense.  Covington is useful depth.  76ers needs guard help, they get some shooting with Ross and can find someone useful with the pick.  The 9th pick may be better than Noel, and with Embiid and Okafor around the 76ers can get someone who has different skills that are needed, like a shooting power forward.

Both teams could improve by doing this trade.

There is sure as hell no need for a power forward with Embiid and Saric on the roster. It also makes no sense whatsoever to trade a PF and draft another one.

If this was the 6th pick and Murray or Hield were going to be there, it makes sense.

I like this trade for both teams as well. Ross is underrated, could be starter material. It’s decent value for Noel imho. Don’t know if the Raptors need to make this deal though.
