Jared Sullinger and two future 2nd round picks for PJ Tucker.

    Yeah baby!

I’m so happy with Masai Ujiri. He couldn’t have added better pieces then Tucker and Ibaka to add around the Lowry, Derozan, Valanciunas core. Now it’s up to them to perform because management has done everything right.

If deal has gone down then it’s a canny deal to do, PJ is someone you’ve long wanted the Raps to target and gives them very nice options at SF.

I hate to sound like a Homer but I don’t think anybody wants to play the Raptors now.

      Lowry, Joseph, Wright

      Derozan, Powell

      Carroll, Tucker

      Ibaka, Patterson, Siakam

      Valanciunas, Nogueira, Poeltl

Am I crazy or is that an extremely deep and versatile team that can match up with anyone. I really think Tucker intensity is the nail in the coffin for the rest of the Eastern conference aside from Cleveland. If he can transfer that intensity to the rest of the team along with our great fans. Only thing that stops us from making it back to the Eastern Conference in my mind is a shooting slump which is a very possible slump to happen for Derozan and Lowry.

SF was where they lacked and Toronto picked up a good quality backup at a very small cost. Combined with the Ibaka trade, I think Toronto is one of the big winners of the trade deadline. Now, this move probably does not move the needle much; I view it as a trade where you hoping it helps you steal a game in the playoffs when you need it. That being said, given the age of the core Toronto should be in win-now mode and that one game Tucker coud still could be the difference between going out in the second round and making it to the finals. Solid trade!

Yeah that’s a great trade for the Raptors and OhCanada nailed it like a week ago when he said go get Tucker at the deadline.

Toronto has great depth on the wing now and can effectively – on paper at least – play big or small with a lot of different line combos.

    You could run Lowry-Tucker-DeRozan-Carroll-Ibaka

    Lowry-Tucker-DeRozan-Carroll-JV

    Lowry-Joseph-Tucker/DD-Carroll-Ibaka/JV

Lots of options there and while I don’t love that their offense likely still just revolves around Lowry/DeRozan monopolizing the offense with a lot of guys standing around.

Points off of turnovers is key, Lowry/Derozan ball handler with Ibaka pop/Valanciunas dive high pick and pop/roll, Derozan iso, Ibaka mid post/face up, Valanciunas low post. Lots of ball movement, lots of open looks but more than likely lots of standing around and watching as you said.

Ibaka is gonna be getting more open looks than ever in this offense.

There is a nice lot of depth on their roster now and even if some guys are a rental, it gives them their best chance to progress. A potential Conference Semi vs Boston will be a hard series and these moves could give them the edge.

If Cavs are full strength and LBJ is on form, I could not personally see Raps getting past the Cavs but it could be a very close series.
