Mr.Knick 32ParticipantSorry Coach K? Why is that? The Blue Devils and Miller parted ways a while ago.
Anyway, to all those Louisville fans. Once again, you get the 4 star guys but not the 5 stars.
I wrote about this a WHILE ago. Baylor will be the best team in Texas in terms of recruits and such. Baylor, Memphis and Kentucky will be those NBA hotbeds in a couple seasons.

Im Your FatherParticipant@Mr. Knick, that is essentially right, but not entirely true. Probably 1-2 months ago, there was renewed hope that the Miller recruitment might pick back up. But it pretty quickly died back down and you are right, Duke’s camp had already moved on.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI read online earlier today, that the NCAA were Investigating coach Drew about recruiting violations concerning Text Messages sent to recruit Hanner Perea…And with the bad press surrounding the suspension of guard Dunn..these signings might be good news for the school…

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI heard about that Baylor stuff. Crazy
Also, I’m a Duke fan. Most smart Duke fans knew he wasn’t coming to Duke. It was between Baylor, Kentucky and Louisville. Kentucky died unexpectantly but probably because Anthony Davis is there PLUS Micheal Chandler seems to be a heavy UK lean. I said a while ago that I would go Baylor over Louisville because I don’t the whole L-Ville thing.

Im Your FatherParticipantYea, Mr. Knick is right, as far as I know, by the last few weeks, no Duke insider was even suggesting that Duke had a shot.
There are however so Duke fans that don’t know anything about recruiting, or basketball for that matter, that simply predict that Duke will get everyone they recruit.

JNixonParticipantI’ve been scared of Baylor ever since Coach Drew scooped up Tweety Carter out of HS, and I used to tell EVERYBODY last year that I was wayyyy more worried about Baylor (and Mizzou) than I was about Kansas, because they had the athleticism, size and skills at the same time. They are always tough to play, and now they are adding elite athletes and prospects. They are killing recruits and are now the hotbed over Texas and OU

midwestbbscoutParticipantnow that Baylor has made themselves Final 4 contenders for at least the next 3 years and they almost made it last year, does this make Scott Drew’s turnaround of this program the best ever…..I really don’t see how it could get any better…..

hiphopismylifeParticipantJust like Calipari is the one and done pg coach, Scott Drew is emerging as the elite big man coach. Jones, Miller, then Austin. Thats scary, especially if any one of em sticks around more than a year.

HitsterParticipantScott Drew has certainly turned Baylor around but he was given time to do this after several years of struggle when he took over a Head Coach after David Bliss stepped down in 2003. Having a top level recruit coming in 2010, 2011 and 2012 gives Baylor a great starting point to recruit other players and Epe Udoh’s rise has certainly shown that Coach Drew can help big men to develop.
The only problem for Baylor long term might be keeping hold of Coach Drew as the guy only turns 40 tomorrow and after 3 good successive seasons since 2007 and several more likely then one day soon an NBA team will come knocking at his door. Of course the likes of Coach K have always resisted numerous chances to go to the NBA and Scott could do the same but no doubt he will get offers soon. From a positive point for Baylor with so many good recruits coming over the next couple of years, Coach Drew will probably be busy trying to win an NCAA title and he will have many more years to consider the NBA in the future.

midwestbbscoutParticipantthat team couldn’t have been further in the toilet….and he brought them back there QUICK….I’m not quite sure what year it was that they went but it was no more than 3 or 4 years and to have them in the Elite 8 in 6 years is incredible to me….it wasn’t just a fluke either because they will be back….
