He very well could be most improved and biggest underachiever at the same time. He was considered a top 10 prospect in his HS class, did very little in significant minutes last year, and if he averages maybe three times more points than he did, that still could be looked at as kind of underachieving for a player of his supposed rank. To me it is a pretty solid list. Keala King does look to be the favorite for freshman of the year, though Dwight Powell could do big things at Stanford, and Allen Crabbe at Cal. Also, depending on this latest thumb thing, Josh Smith could have a huge year for UCLA. If he really has been working as hard as advertised and has cut a significant amount of weight, that guy will be a total tank in the post, especially seeing that the Pac-10 is short on big men right now. But, another thing in defense of Gaddy being possibly the most improved and biggest underachiever was Malcolm Lee last year. Everyone expected Malcolm Lee to completely take off, and instead he had a mediocre season on a totally underachieving UCLA squad. But, in Gaddy’s defense, his team should more than likely be at the top of the conference. As far as other people to keep an eye out for, I think Alex Stephenson could have a big senior year at USC and DeAngelo Casto for Washington State should also be improved. Still, tough to harp on those All-Conference teams, pretty solid. Now, the bigger question is how will the conference race play out? UW seems to be a pretty overwhelming favorite to win the conference, but how will the other teams stack up and how many tournament teams will the Pac-10 have? Here is how I see it:

    1. Washington Huskies (Tournament Team)

    2. UCLA Bruins (Tournament Team)

    3. Arizona Wildcats (Tournament Team)

    4. Arizona State Sun Devils (Bubble)

    5. Washington State Cougars

    6. USC Trojans

    7. Stanford Cardinal

    8. Oregon State Beavers

    9. California Golden Bears

    10. Oregon Ducks (Though we will somehow get the automatic bid for the NCAA tournament. Kidding)

Hopefully this year will be a better year for the conference in general, particularily non-conference games, where we had numerous embarassing losses by most every Pac-10 school. Also, Oregon will more than likely upset Duke in Portland, this is a guarantee (Again, Kidding, though I really hope it happens).

i just cant wait for college ball to get going already. After last season, the pac 10 really needs to bounce back and stick up for themselves. I saw dickie v’s top 50 and wash was the only conference team listed.

one of the things that pissed me off the most last year was after selection sunday, i was watching some college bball show with like 5 guys discussing the brackets. Greg anthony and wally szerbiak were on there. But some old man was talking like he was legitimately pissed that cal got an at large bid. He was saying "everyone knows the pac is a 1 big league this year. Well at least both cal and washington have to play big east schools in the first round so they wont stick around long." LOL

I agree with the list although i think anthony Brown might be the most versitile with his ability to play three positions effectively. id have to throw my nephew into the mix for defensive player or all defensive team after what hes been doing at stanford and how he locked down Khawi Leonard the other day

lol..naw im not. my nephew isnt ready to be on the list as a freshman on the offensive side of the ball. the potential is very very high on that end but he hasnt put it all together yet. hes wayy ahead on the defensive side though which is why hes starting over two other top 50 players on his team
