So, Billy Preston is going to Bosnia & Herzegovina.

What do you think this debacle does to his draft stock?  The site has him at the tail end of the 2nd round now.  I can’t see him stepping in mid-season to a Euro team and  tearing it up.

I hope the car was worth it.

Hopefully it is a lesson learned for fast Billy P.

I will miss the opportunity to scout him in the NCAA.  Parts of his game reminded me of Paul George but it could easily be more like Tony Mitchell (N. Texas)…sadly we will never know

I think he’d have to wow teams in workouts to even sniff the end of the first round, but he does have the athletic ability and body to do so.  This upcoming class isn’t as deep as last year’s class so its possible a team takes a chance on him over other players who are more ready to contribute.

He does have talent. That’s never been the question with Billy. He has a man’s body already (helps to be old for his class as he’ll turn 21 by next NBA season), he’s athletic, decent length for a PF.  He also has some face up skill, with an ability to create his own shot, but he’s seemingly one of those kids who learned the game backwards.  Sure he can iso and he takes, sometimes makes difficult shots but he doesn’t do any of the small stuff.  He’s got a low bball IQ, doesn’t do much when the ball isn’t in his hands, has a tendency to play with blinders on, takes bad shots, would rather settle for jumpers as opposed to physically imposing himself, isn’t much of a defensive presence despite his size and athleticism.  This kid really needed good coaching in the worst way.  IDK how much he was able to practice at KU, but I know that he did at least a little bit.  Hopefully he picked up a thing or 2 while he was there because his mental game needs serious work.  Reminds me a bit of Al Harrington, but Al was much younger when he entered the league.  Unless he has an epiphany, I could easily see Billy spending a ton of time in the GLeague if he decides learning the game in Europe isn’t for him.
