xJumpManxParticipantThey way he moves does Maker remind you at all of KG. When i watched him during summer leagues the way he moved on the court jsut reminded me of KG.

JoeWolf1Ah, just for the fun of it…I think he’s going to be pretty darn good. I realize he has his knocks, but I like the kid.

Might take him a while to get there, but I could see him having some peak seasons similar to that. Potentially a 1-3 time all-star and a #2 scoring option or part of a 1A/1B tandem.

BiggaveliiiParticipantDespite Milwaukee not making the playoffs this past season, i think they have one of the best scouting staff in the game, past couple of seasons they have found gems not only in the draft but also through trades. Middleton is a keeper, Giannis is going to have a monster season in my opinion, and Thon Maker has the tools to be a solid pro. Good job Milwaukee

I really like his game. I think Milwaukee is a great place for him considering their needs. Maker has a lot of rare traits that make him an intriguing player but I think he will be more role oriented yet still appreciated like Draymond Green in that sense.
I love the fact that after spotting up for threes on pick and pops or at the end of transition if he doesn’t get a touch for the shot he still dives to the rim or crashes the glass. That’s so rare. He wants to go fight for extra possessions and understands where he can help his team. He doesnt just coast on the three point line. He also has great instincts and a nose for the ball. His feet and actions are quick and he is much more agile then the big men he’s competing against allowing him to win loose ball battles.
He has the potential to be a game changing role player.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantI could see it going one of two ways in his rookie year:
As Role player: averaging something like this 6-8 points a game,4-5 boards,1 block a game and maybe 1-2 dimes a game in about 10-20 mins a game
or
If some how he cracks the starting lineup if it is: Jabari,Giannis,Thon,Middleton and maybe Henson?(Assuming monroe is either moved to the bench or off team):
He could average 10-14 points a game, 6-8 boards, 1-2 blocks and maybe 2-4 dimes a game.In about 25-35 mins a game
But it all depends on how Kidd plays him really or how much pressure Kidd is under to make Monroe fit to what Thon will get stats wise..

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantI believe Thon Maker will be a 4 pt. 3 rebound player the first couple of seasons. I would guess that his time line will be similar to Jermaine Oneal’s when he started out with Portland. The Bucks will only haveso much playing time to give him as they try and win games with more veteran players.
It has been a nice start for him in summer league…. but it is just summer league.
Maker will have to establish playing time before he can accumulate any meaninful stats and who’s minutes is he going to take?

IndianaBasketballParticipantI love that Jermaine O’Neal comparison…

shug94ParticipantI think he will end up as a high end role player/3rd option.

HitsterParticipantFor a guy his size, shouldn’t his rebounding be nearer double digit territory given he will likely play C. I could see scoring being 15ppg, 2bg, 1.5apg.

DolanCareParticipantI don’t see the offensive potential as much as others. He’ll be servicable, but I don’t see him scoring more than 15 a game unless he becomes a knock down mid range shooter similar to KG or Gasol. Massive ‘if’ though. My prediction: 12 ppg, 11 rpg, 2 blocks

OhCanada-ParticipantThey will probally keep him on the perimeter offensively ask him to crash the glass on missed attempts and beat his man down the court to get in defensive position. He has the stamina and energy level to do it he’s proved he is extremely active and has a next level of endurance. His team needs shooting and he can shoot those two things won’t change.
They will probably have him shooting 5 three pointers per 30 minutes from day one like the rest of the East does with their bigs. Like you said if he can nail that pull up jumper for when help comes late on the closeout but there is no room to drive to the rim he could score 15ppg if he gets minutes. Bucks seem to be very good with development I’m happy he went to Milwaukee.

TRC1991ParticipantI don’t think he’ll ever average more than 14 ppg
