leftyballer24Participantanyone know when this is? im excited to see some players exposed like mike b last year even though its not that big a deal, i think blake griffin is only 6’8 or lil more with no shoes but it would be interestin if he was in the 6’7 range, others players who will be exposed to me are tyreke evans who i think is like 6’3.5 and ive always questioned derozans 6’7 listing he looks more like 6’4 ish to me and jordan hill whos probably 6’7.5 or 6’8 1/4 something like that.. who else do you think doesnt lie like wayne ellington and who over exaggerates ?

Tha King2121ParticipantYeah its prob like a month before the draft, Demar is 6 4. But I pretty sure Jordan hill is at least 6 10. Ya never know
like last year Michael Beasly was 2 1/2 inches shorter then listed the whole year0 - Posted on: Sat, 04/11/2009 - 12:55pm #145197
Henry25ParticipantWhy does everyone think that these players are shorter than there listings? I saw Blake Griffin stand next to Beasley during the McDonalds dunk contest and Griffin had atleast 2 inches on him. There is no way Tyreke Evans is 6’3, he is a legit 6’5 or 6’6. Stop hoping these players to fail

eprizzle14ParticipantI think Derozan is at least 6’6 he has got a lot of length and his frame is going to get swoll, count on it.
People who I think will be hurt by measurments:
Willie Warren 6’2
Damien James 6’5
Terrence Williams6’4
Jeff Adrian 6’6
Dejuan Blair 6’6
Gerald Henderson I hope this guy measures over 6’3People who will measure strong:
Earl Clark
James Johnson

leftyballer24Participantif they came in at 6’6 w/o shoes that would be good news b.c. they could list themselfs around 6’8 but im guessin both of them are 6’5 or so and williams bein 6’4 isnt that bad most guys that are listed at 6’6 are 6’4, 6’4.5 w/o shoes….

ninja12Participantwithout shoes. That puts him in Elton Brand territory. His explosiveness will help him make up the difference, but his skill set is still limited to out-muscling and out-jumping guys. He’s going to have a difficult road to becoming a good defender with solid perimeter skills.
BTW, Beasley’s listed height became an absolute joke when they started labeling him as 6’10”. When he was listed as 6’9″ it was bad but certainly not unprecedented. I’ve never seen such an exaggeration even in the height exaggeration world that American basketball can be.

tli232I’ve watched a lot of Uconn Games… Thabeet is a legit 7’3… unless they overlisted all of his teammates. 😛

usfballerParticipantAt the pre-draft camp last year Ellington measured in at 6’3 and 3/4″ barefoot.

dodgerParticipantactually the most embarrassing measurement situation was a guard for michigan state named Shawn Respert, he looked about 6’0” and was recruited as a point guard and listed at 6’1”. He was a shoot-first type so they eventually moved him off ball and then all of the sudden he became a 6’5” shooting guard. was drafted by the blazers then traded to the bucks , where on his rookie card it said he was 6’3”. after bouncing around the league a little bit, he made his debut for the suns i believe, where he became 6’1” again. There was an article about this in Slam magazine.

WälseParticipanti agree on griffin, but i think hill, derozan, & evans will be within an inch of their listing like most players are.

bfain225ParticipantI know he isn’t entering the draft this year but they list him at 6’4
and they measured him barefoot at the nike hoop summit and he is 6’1here is a link saying that he is 6’1

Lodzio20ParticipantEllington is 6’4,75” with shoes
about Griffin i think he’s 6’8,75 in shoes0- Posted on: Fri, 04/17/2009 - 11:20am #146308
crispcountyParticipantBeasley height was definitely a lie, i think blake will be closer to his listed height than people think, curry is a legit 6’3 he has about grown 3-4″ since he entered college. Tyreke evans is a legit 6’6 guard and derozan is a legit 6’6-6’7

codazenParticipantHere is the answer:
May 27-31: The NBA Pre-Draft Combine will be conducted in Chicago, in a new, more economically friendly format designed to gather all of the major draft prospects under one roof for a series of drills, measurements, anthropometric testing, the combine and interviews. Invitations went out this past week, and all 30 NBA teams will be allowed to bring just seven front-office members due to space constraints.— Also, I recently heard B. Griffen measured 6′-9″ in socks.

Stanford hoopsParticipantyeah he was measured that in socks by someone who works with oklahoma sooners so basically you can just throw that out the window and wait till he gets to the combine…more than likely hes around 6-8 6-9 in shoes..derozen is easily a good 6’6 or 6’7..same as blair which doesnt really matter wit him because his wing span is tremendous

butidonthavemoneyYeah I noticed that the Nike Hoops Summit listed him at 6’1″ too. He is freaky long though.

Evan_MilbergParticipantI think the guy this is gonna have the biggest impact on is Stephen Curry. The Knicks could lose their current interest if Curry ends up being shorter than expected. I don’t think that’ll happen, but it’s a possibility. As for the big guys mentioned, it really isn’t going to matter since this draft is weak in the big man department, and teams are gonna draft those guys regardless.

Stanford hoopsParticipantwalls athletisim and his long arms make up for if he ends up being 6’2..like rondo
