Who has been your pleasant surprise this season?

Solomon Hill has been great as Indiana’s starting SG and I think he could fill that spot going forward, I never really expected him to play like this.

Outside of Indiana I would have to go with Jimmy Butler, I mean he has been fantastic and looking like a massive franchise piece in Chicago.

as a laker fan, if i had to pick one guy who has been a pleasant surprise it would be wayne ellington. Going into training camp, he was a guy who was not gauranteed a roster spot and was competing for one of the last roster spots. He was probably the 15th man to make the team. And so far this season, he has averaged 8 points on 56% shooting in 20 minutes per game while playing solid defense. I really like his game. He has missed the last two games and could be gone considerably longer due to his fathers murder last week which is tragic and unfortunate in its own right. But he does appear to be a long term nba player whenever he comes back.

some other surprises in my eyes looking around the league:

travis wear for even making a team after being undrafted and getting zero love his senior year of college. And not only is he on a team, but hes actually playing.

jimmy butler. Dude is averaging 24 ppg so far and showing far more skills then i thought he had. I mean he is on some all-star level pace for a guy who i thought was a defensive role player.

Robin Lopez. Has been averaging 12 ppg this year and is becoming an offensive option for the blazers than just a defesnive guy.

The Pacers have been suprising in general, but I’m going to go with Lavoy Allen…

He’s averaging 7.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1 block in 23 minutes for the Pacers. He’s leading all reserves in total rebounding right now.

Another Pacer I want to mention is AJ Price… This guy didn’t even have a job before last Fri and has been great. He’s actually closing games and delivering…There’s no doubt he’s an NBA backup.
