There are alot of talented players buried on NBA benches and just need a new team to get started. Who are some players who need a change of scenery??

    Mine are

    1. Nick Young – Stuck behind mike miller, deshawn Stevenson, Gilbert, Randy Foye the last couple years. He can score any and every way yea cant really do anything else but neither does ben gordon hence a 6th man role for Nick.

    2. Rudy Fernandez- For obvious reasons

    3. Brandon Rush- I thought he was gonna be pretty good coming out of Kansas. He still has alot to show IMO but now with Paul george, dantay jones, Lance Stephenson, Tj ford, darren collison all on the roster I dont think he is gonna see much time

    4. Rodney Stuckey- He has been okay in Detroit but the team is a mess i think if he was moved to SG on another team he could be a tyreke evans like player

    5. Craig Smith- He was dejuan blair before dejuan blair was in the nba. If he is put on a contender he would be a factor off the bench. Very physical down low

    6. Sam Young- I know he has only been in the nba for 1yr but I have a feeling that with xavier, oj and, rudy on the team he wont get big minutes. He is a very good defender athletic, a decent spot up 3pt shooter

i disagree about Nick Young..the Wizards gave him several starts..
he’ll tease them with a couple of good games..then he’ll go back to being inconsistent…

Sam Young is a good role player..a 8th or 9th guy off the bench…

Rudy Fernandez can be a star..But i think he’s more 6th man material

He did start a couple times but we havent had a distributor at the pg position since Rod Strickland so I you cant really expect him to be consistent with gil caron jamison blatche foye stevenson chucking shots

Nick Young is the epitome of moody. If he makes his first shot he can get hot and score 30. If he misses his first shot he will pout his lips, play the rest of the game with his head down, jack up horrible shots, and play zero defense. Well he plays zero defense even when he is hot. Such a big enigma. So talented, but so mentally weak.

1.Jerryd Bayless-He has shown the potential to be a star once giving the opportunity, but the minutes are just not there.

2.Thaddeus Young-Love love love him but he will never be a starter as long as Brand, & his “BIG A$$” contract remains in the city of brotherly love. Which Thad does not get, because he plays out of position due to Iggy.

3.Monta Ellis-Was his team, but Nellie has put his future plans in Curry so he won’t be there long after this season.

4.Brandon Bass-This 1’s crazy because they got him via free agency because he showed off in Dallas but they burry him on the pine.

5.Lou Williams-Jrue came in & stole his shine so he’s stuck @ being just a role player until he can go 2 a mediocre team who needs his scoring ability.

6.Boobie Gibson-He has shown flashes of what he’s capable of doing when left open, but he can’t run the show with Mo & Sessions there.

He is getting a fresh start, so it will be interesting to see how he does in Minny. Wonder if he will show some of the rebounding and aggressiveness attacking the rim that he showed in college, and/or develop some post moves. Minny has a very crowded frontcourt, so I wonder how much playing time he will get.

Some of the same can be said for Yi Jianlian. He is behind Andray Blatche, another player with some similar strengths and weaknesses to himself, so he could get playing time if he turns a corner with his game.

Paul Millsap could be a starter on some teams, he was waiting for Boozer to go and now big Al is here

Marcus Banks – can really play, he is stuck behind Jack and Calderon, when Calderon was injured he played real well, he has a bad contract but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t play

Marcin Gortat and Brandon Bass – both can play, they were signed by the Magic and aren’t really letting them play, Gortat could start on many teams, Bass deserves at least some time.

Luke Ridnour – can play well, he deserves more than a back up PG in the worst team of the league, although maybehe may start over Flynn at times

Carl Landry needs a new team where he can start and get meaningful minutes. I posted this in another thread but he was one of the top PER guys in Houston but was stuck behind Scola and Hayes. Finally gets traded to a team where he can start in SAC. Then they go and draft Cousins.

You could say Carl Landry since Cousins came along, now he has quite a bunch of players in front of him

Maybe Horford – he just needs to play PF

Marvin Williams really needs a fresh start, has been labeled a bust for most of his career, but might be a bit less of a bust if he gets a change of scenary

Jason Maxiell to me was better three years ago, I think he needs a fresh start, he can play, he’s athletic, undersized and fun to watch

Jeff Green would probably produce better playing his natural SF position, but I think he’s happy with the Thunder (I’m not sure)

Sorry for repeating Landry, didn’t see your post

    1. Marvin Williams- all the talent in the world but is being in ATL the right fit? 4 others who need shots n touches doesnt help the development

    2. JR Smith- magic “P” word..POTENTIAL..had prolly more downs than ups in Denver, a new change of scenery may help him realize that P word

    3. Marcin Gortat- playing 12 mins a game isn’t cutting it for him. Dude can play, its a shame Orlando matched bc he’s a solid big man

    4. Andre Igoudola- can be a solid 2nd or 3rd player on a winning team so people can see this guy can play

    5. Tayshun Prince- needs a fresh start, can put a team on the brink to a contender

    6. Rip Hamilton- could you imagine him in Dallas or Utah? he’d be a vital piece to 1 of those teams

    7. Mike Dunleavy- can be a dead eye shooter off the bench for a contender…

    8. Andries Biedrins- Nelly ball isnt helping him, can start for a lot of teams

Nick Young has the potential to be a very good player, but he takes all of his abilities for granted. People say the he was stuck on the bench, but they’re wrong because he got some starts last season. While he did good in some, he played bad in others and his PT dipped late in the season. Nick Young is a great shooter and great athlete, but has low basketball I.Q., takes bad shots, and is very inconsistent. I think this is his make-or-break year for Washington. If he doesn’t impress the coaching staff this season, I think he may be on his way out of D.C..

Brandon Rush is what he is, a good perimeter defender and spot-up shooter who can score a little in transition.

I used to be a Nick Young guy and thought he could be a starter and 1st or 2nd option, but he’s not really smart enough to reach his scoring potential. It’s sad too, because he’s one of the more talented young players in the NBA offensively.

Rodney Stuckey is as good as he’ll be. Last year was Stuckey at his best.

Craig Smith an average role-player, but I do agree that his impact would be greater if he played for a contender.

Sam Young is a bench player and a good one, but he’s in the right place for him probably. His situation has nothing to do with how he’s played, which has been very well considering where he was picked.

we could make a huge list. the fact is just about every player int he nba can score. just about all are offensively gifted but that’s only part of the reason a player will get to play. you also have to be mentally ready, defense, high basketball IQ, hard worker, and you have to be better then the guy ahead of you. alot of those guys are right where they should be and that’s coming off the bench because they cant do multiple things. im sure they could start on some teams but what would they be really bringing to the table other then scoring if they get enough shots. that’s another thing they have to be efficient as well and know how be score there points without being the primary option.

There are players that if you put on another team they will be much better but those are the ones that usually are consistant when they get alot of minutes..nick young and rudy fernendez arent one of them

lou williams is good but hes not a point guard and hes not a 2guard id want starting on my playoff team

The young one slike brandon rush still have a chance to be pretty good(actually rush is a pretty good player)

If Landry picks up his rebounding he will not only guarantee himself as a starter but he will definitely solidify himself as a good PF in the NBA. This will be a contract year for him and I think he will put in just as much effort as he has these past few seasons, which is quite a bit. Cousins is only really a threat to his minutes this year because they might try and play Cousins at the PF a little only because the have Dalembert. But once the Kings realize that Cousins will not be able to guard other PF’s, at least not this year, Landry will get more time. If he resigns with the Kings this coming offseason I think he will get a lot of minutes. The Kings would have the ability to rotate Thompson between the PF and C positions, give Whiteside some minutes and still give Cousins and Landry a lot of on court time. I think Landry is a great fit for the Kings and provides them with too much hustle and great offence down low for them not to give him at least 25-30 mpg and probably more like 30-35 mpg if he resigns next offseason.

I think granger needs a new start hes not a first option but a solid second the pacers miss the playoffs by a small amout the last couple of years and hes a good system player would excel in a team with a system jazz, knicks, suns, magic if he doesnt have to do alot of thinking and he can just shoot he should do good and those teams most of the thinkings is easy and already done by the point gaurd in the coach, not to mention the open shoot
