ReactionParticipantAs a Pistons fan, there is no way this would happen. Omer Asik can’t play power forward and the Pistons already have Andre Drummond. Not to mention, Greg Monroe is way better than Asik in my opinion.

terrancebowerParticipantNot to be rude but this is terrible. Do you not know why the Rockets want to move Asik in the first place? Because there isn’t enough room on the court for two seven footers if neither can shoot outside of 5 feet. Asik is also way too slow to guard quicker power forwards (all powerforwards are quicker than him, with a couple of exceptions), and if they make Howard guard PFs, they’re wasting his shotblocking ability by moving him away from the rim, so they’re also getting hurt defensively. Asik and Drummond would have the exact same issues, but with even less spacing because at least Houston has shooters on the wing.

I think, at this point, Omer Asik has little to no trade value. Not because he’s a bad player but because we would have no leverage in any deal. He hasn’t played in weeks and he doesn’t want to be in Houston.
Trades are all about leverage and right now, the Rockets have none.
Fortunately, Terrence Jones has blossomed into a perfect starter, Motie has been playing better, Casspi has been a great signing as our backup PF and Greg Smith fills the void at the 3rd string C spot, so the Rockets aren’t in any rush to trade him either.

In all honesty I’m shocked this trade idea didn’t include Josh Smith or Brandon Jennings…
The Rockets may have to swallow the last few years of Asik’s contract themselves(Did you get the Poison Pill pun? whatever I suck…)
I can only see the Asik trade offers get crazier…Like, Asik and Lin for Carmelo Anthony or Chris Bosh, or "Omer Asik gets traded to the Bucks for the Rights to Andrew Wiggins, only to backup Larry Sanders!" *shrug*
