The GoatParticipantObviously Lebron is the top target, but he seems to be a long shot. Looking at the other options available other than PG, who do you think they should go after?
There are whispers of Jabari going there.. Im not sold on the fit. I think Avery Bradley may be a good signing. He should provide what they hope Zhaire Smith gives them in a few years. He can defend the smaller guards for Ben and shoot the ball. Who you got?

EndlessknightParticipantThink they’ll miss out on both LeBron and PG13. If that’s the case would like so see them sign JJ and a guy like Caldwell-Pope to one year deals to preserve the space for next year.

rvan14ParticipantI think it’s time for Philly to focus elsewhere and move on from LeBron. I think he prefers LA because of the flexibility to create his own team to an extent. I like the idea of 1 year contracts to JJ and maybe Avery Bradley. Save that cap space and in ’19 Klay and Jimmy look like great fits.

OhCanada-ParticipantThey did a good job filling small veteran roles last year while still having their young core put in a position to grow and learn.
Amir Johnson and Trevor Bookers salaries are off the books but that money will be used to cover Embiids new contract.
JJ Redick is off the books which means using that money they either need to find an upgrade for him or re-sign him. As much as Bradley provides defensively I dont think he is that much of an upgrade over Redick overall and as much as I like Zhaire Smith and Landry Shamet they wont be able to fully replace Redick immediately.
However if the plan is to use Redicks money for a star and replace him with Smith and Shamet which looks to be the case then they gotta go big. Seems they are using the Sacramento pick as trade bait along with Markelle Fultz and possibly Redick with a sign and trade.
If through free agency. Paul George is the only guy that is a certain upgrade over Redick. Other options that would be a gamble in my opinion are Aaron Gordon, Will Barton, Tyreke Evans and Avery Bradley.
Parker is another wildcard but idk if he fits well and investing that much money in another injury prone player could be crippling for your franchise.
Other then that you’ve got guys that dont really fit like Paul, Cousins, Capela, Jordan, and Favors. Isaiah Thomas as well but if he was too ball dominant for Lebron then it wont work with Simmons.
So I’d say these would be the free agency options in order.
1.Lebron James
2.Paul George
3.JJ Redick
4.Will Barton
5Avery Bradley
6.Aaron Gordon
7.Tyreke Evans

cohenbc1Participantwill they try to bring back Belinelli and Ilyasova? It seems like both of those guys played maybe the best ball of their lives with the Sixers last year.
If not, maybe Rudy Gay? He can get them buckets off the bench and fill the Ilyasova role.

The GoatParticipantOne other guy that is currently under contract but may soon not be is Patrick Beverley. May also be a sneaky decent pick up. Hezonja and Exum both also could fit and are worth throwing a bone

HitsterParticipantIf they cannot land a top FA then retaining JJ would seem like a no brainer to me. He will get a lot of offers but the 76ers would likely be able to offer him the best deal from a contender unless say the Lakers didn’t get targets and dangled a nice one year deal his way.
JJ may be 34 now but had his best scoring year last season and his experience, leadership and shooting make him a good fit on a young team. As suggested above even a nice one year deal may appeal to both sides, as they would retain flexability for 2019. JJ may like a longer deal but another nice one year contract would be a nice 2nd prize and it always allows him to hop onto another team next summer if he so wishes.
Ersan I’d figure they may also want to retain but that Amir might be moved on.
They may well make a few big name FA pitches but I think they may well look for complimentary veterans more,

SmooveKRYPTParticipantMaybe an offer sheet for Zach LaVine?
Other than that I’d just do the 1-year deals again. Wait it out for another year and hope for Klay, CJ, or Beal to become available.

HitsterParticipantZach LaVine is an interesting one but I think Chicago would match.
Will Barton may be worth a look at, he has had a very few seasons in Denver and has had career best scoring, 3 point shooting and assists this season just gone. Will is 27 so is still quite young but brings nice experience. He’d be a nice fit as the 2nd unit scorer.
If they wanted to go all in then maybe dangling a first for Lou Williams might be an option. He has a cap friendly deal and spent 7 years in Philly during AI/Iggy era so it would be a nice homecoming for him too.

BeastMode716Participanttrades just in the Hopes of getting Lebron
It’s pretty clear that Lebron & Kawhi Want to be in LA & PG13 is prob 50/50 between OKC & LA
Yes Phila is behind Boston the next coupld years but Boston’s Top players will be 27 (Kyrie) 29 (Hayward) & 33 (Horford) next spring
Phila’s entire core is 20 – 24 years old. Allow them to develop & keep building slowly, they already have what looks like 2 of the Top 8 players in the NBA in say 5 years when Embiid & Simmons will be 29 & 27 respectively
They have a great culture & some really exciting young oieces in support of Embiid & Simmons w/ Saric, Fultz & Zhaire Smith —- there’s no way I’d just give them a way for a One year rental of Kawhi.
Boston is Loaded w/ in their Prime players & young studs (Tatum & Brown) & it looks like either Boston or Phila will land the Kings pick in 2019 which should be a Top 3 pick (#1 it goes to Phila, any other spot it goes to Boston)
So w/ Lebron moving out of the East – Boston & Phila are going to make the East look like the 1960’s & 1980’s again

Andv1 WaitingParticipantKeep their starting 5 in tact-Maybe do a 1 year deal with Reddick again or see if Futlz is finally ready to start yet and shore up the bench with 1year or 1+ 1(team option on 2nd) deals and see how they go.
Then go all in for one of the following: Klay,K.D,Kawhi,Butler or Another really good SG that would fit nicely with Simmons…
