Andre Iguodala with another joke job in the clutch, he has to be the least clutch player I’ve ever seen. Sixers really missed Hawes today though, Brand couldn’t cover Nene. Hats off to Andre Miller though, guy is amazing.

its really great how andre miller still proves to be a huge impact player because he doesnt rely on athleticism to be a great player , usually those guys turn out to have more longevity (steve nash . etc.)

Evan Turner is turning into a very good player, but is being stunted by continually coming off the bench, he isn’t an energy guy or a spark plug that comes off the bench, that’s not his game (thus his inconsistent play). Frankly, i don’t think he’s best suited to a career in Philadelphia, there’s too many other ball dominant players atm, and whether Doug Collins likes it or not, Evan Turner has to and should have the ball in his hands.

@BigD, Thank you for your understanding know you know my pain. Last year I had to suffer through people calling Turner a bust and he didn’t even make the Rookie game which to me is still outrageous and get’s me mad thinking about it.

And you are 100% right that Turner is not an energy guy off the bench. Not even close. If you think he came in a game and brought energy you are mistaken, he most likely came into the game and dominated like he did tonight. Turner had 20 and 11 in only 28 minutes in a game that went to overtime.

It’s starting to become obvious that his growth is being stunted now and something has to change. The main thing that needs to change is he needs to start and get 30 plus minutes everynight. This is easy enough to do so there are no excuses for this not to happen. I like Meeks but let’s get real this guy has no bussiness starting over Turner that’s a crime. Meeks missed a dam layup tonight to start the game off. He shoots 3’s that’s it we don’t need him starting.

And Turner needs the ball in his hands at the end of games. Besides Williams, he’s the only other Sixer I feel comfortable with handling the ball at the end of games. Iggy is prone to take terrible shots, and Holiday still needs to work on his decision making at the end of games.

I actually like Meeks starting because it gives them an excellent 3 point shooter who is seemingly always open, due to their other scoring threats. Meeks does the one thing exceptionally well that Turner does not do well, and that is shooting the basketball. Having Turner on the bench with Young and Williams likely gives the Sixers the best bench in the entire league- from a scoring standpoint especially.

That’s the problem my man, all Meeks can do is shoot. Can’t defend, can’t create for others, no athleticism, and he’s inconsistent. That is the kind of player that should be coming off the bench, not Evan Turner who can do all of the things Meeks can’t. And it’s not like Turner isn’t able to knock down jumpers.

No you can’t continue to bring Turner off the bench because this is just getting ridiculous.  His ceiling is too high to be grooming as a bench player.  He was the 2nd overall pick for a reason, and that’s because he has a large skill set and can run a pro offense, plus play really good defense.  He’s a 2 way player.  It’s time to start grooming his for the real reason we drafted him and that’s to be a full time starter and closer.  He’s shown time and time again he’s better when given minutes.

Plus Meeks is better as an energy guy scorer off the bench then Turner ever will.  Meeks has huge problems trying to guard bigger guys.  Miller ate him up tonight.  Meeks would do just fine as a floor spacer for the 2nd unit with Lou and Thad.  And Holiday and Iggy can hit open 3’s so it’s not like you don’t have shooters when he’s not in the lineup because the Sixers are 7th in the league in 3’s so far this year.

I like how Collins has turned this team around and they’re winning a lot of games, but he is ridicuslouly stubborn and it’s always his way or the highway, i think he’s got a little something to do with Kwame Brown having absolutely no confidence throughout most of his career, sure he wasn’t no.1 pick worthy but i think he would’ve turned out better under a different coach.

Philadelphia is not going to be a contender with their current roster makeup, they need to start adjusting things so they can build a championship contending team, and it starts with Turner, he’ll never be a great scorer, but he’s the type of player that could be a key cog and vital to a team’s success, maybe even the best player on his team, just not the best scorer. They have to start adjusting the team for the future. Iguodala and Brand should not be in the team’s future plans.
