Here comes the craziness.. I have absolutely no idea what to think of Perry Jones right now.. You can’t pass on him because of his ridiculous combination of size, skill and athletic ability… But it’s Perry Jones so you don’t want to take him because he is historically inconsistent in big games… The team that drafts him Must have a veteran competitor who can show him the ropes and really push him. Otherwise I don’t see him being the star he’s capable of being.. NBADRAFT.net has him going to Pheonix at 13 which would be a great fit coming in behind Redd and Hill and Nash if he sticks around… Utah could bring him along too, they have a very diverse group of PF’s he could develop behind.. I’ll try and answer this again in a couple weeks..

Playing with Rondo would help this kid a lot. The.biggest game of his career was vs Kentucky and he had 17 and 8

^Thats not true, Davis and Perry were injured on the same play but they both came back fine later. Jones went right at Davis when Baylor was making a comeback (brough the lead down to around 10) and was consistently able to draw fouls or score on Davis, who had to return to the bench after reaggrivating his injury during this.

And shut up Pablo, Raps are gonnna make a splash next season.

Game was already over and UK started to let up. Perry has a low motor and is more likely to be a bust than he is to be a very good player. Inconsistent in college does not bode well for the NBA when guys are faster, more athletic, higher motor, better defense, and bigger. And coaches will sit him on the bench for games because he’s not doing anything to help the team win. Would not surprise me if he gets sent down to the D-League for a couple of games in year one

Perry Jones III reminds me a little of Earl Clark.  He is more skilled down low than Clark and has higher upside, but they do have a lot of similarities:  Both are known for strong work ethics, but inconsistent play on the court. Each have length, athleticism, and coordination, but lack physicality and struggle to rebound.  If Jones III isn’t careful, he could end up like Clark, stuck to the bench without any niche to fill for an NBA team.
