Even though it looks bad that they picked cousins over westphal a coaching change had to be made, keith smart did well for the warriors so seems like a good hire, hopefully he can keep cousins under control

hoodwinkParticipantI don’t even think half of it is this whole "Cousins vs. Westphal" thing. NONE of the players were responding to Westphal. They were getting absolutely blown out in all of their losses, and effort was lame.
That said, nobody disliked Westphal the person. Even Cousins was quoted today as saying "We all love coach Westphal" when asked if he knew about the firing decision ahead of time, per a Jason Jones tweet (Sac Bee Kings beat writer, @mr_jasonjones).
Smart is younger, more hip, more energetic and much more relatable. Effort was there all night against the Bucks, and they put it together in the second half for a great win. We’ll see how things go from here.
