There has been a lot of talk lately on here as to whether Tracy McGrady or Vince Carter are Hall of Famers. What about Paul Pierce? I think yes.

O yea…..Pierce is a lock for the Hall of Fame. The only thing holding him back in the 1st place was not having a title, now he does so he’s set.

I dont really see it because unless he wins another title, there are lot of players that deserve to be in that have not and the need to get in before he does.

I say no, he won a champonship with another sure-fire HOFer, and another borderline HOFer, he was purely a scorer on a horrible team past age 30, and wasn’t even an elite player at those times, i dont see it.

I think another major factor leaning in Pierce’s favor for the Hall is the fact that he has played his entire career for one team unlike T-Mac and Vince who have bounced around to a few different teams. Many people don’t realize some of Pierce’s accomplishments on one of the most storied franchises in the NBA, he ranks top 10 in games played, field goals, 3-pointers, free throws, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and points scored, virtually every category. Not only is he top 10 in most of those categories, he is top-5 in most of them and by the time he retires he will likely be the teams all time leader. Pierce has had a major impact for the Boston Celtics whereas T-Mac and Vince are known as great players but have never had a major impact in winning a championship nor have they had loyalty to a certain team like Pierce has.

The Celtics weren’t horrible all of Pierce’s career..you guys have to remember with him and Antoine Walker were on that team they made it to the playoffs a decent number of times. They weren’t special, but they were a playoff team. Maybe the horrible teams he was on for the 2 seasons before the Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett trades are the freshest on ya’ll brains, but the Celtics weren’t the best team in the early 2000’s but they did make the playoffs most of those years and were a pretty competitive team.

I’m leaning towards yes. But I don’t think a prime Piecre was bettter then either a prime TMac or Vince. But one thing Pierce has going over both of them is a title and being more consistent and healthy. So I say yes he’s in.

There are a lot of Hall of Famers that aren’t first ballot guys. Pierce may not be a first ballot HOFer, but I think his resume will get him in down the line.

Easy first ballot HOFer… He was borderline HOFer and winning a championship put him in… Dude had an impressive career especially considering what happen in his rookie year….

He certainly deserves to be in the HOF at least over Carter at this point.

Both came into the league at the same time, and both have had eerily similiar production but Pierce has that championship ring and NBA finals MVP award to his credit so I’ve got to give the edge to him. As you can see from their prime years as well, Pierce was just as impressive as VC in his prime he was just underrated around the league at the time.

In my opinion you can’t put young guys like Chris Paul, Lebron, Wade, and Dwight Howard in the HOF quite yet. They are young and if they continue to produce like they have been, yes, they probably will be in the HOF. I think all of those guys would be in the possible HOF players. It would be really unfortunate, but injuries happen. You could have said after a couple years into Ralph Sampson’s career, Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill or Larry Johnson’s career, or countless others that they were future HOFers, but they have had injuries cut their careers and productivity short. I think CP3, Lebron, Dwight Howard, and Wade need to play longer and accomplish more before you can say they are sure fire HOFers.
