birdman1113Participantnobydy talks about him but he could be a rebounding beast and highlight reel dunker if he plays in the nba?

GreenLanternParticipantPaul Harris will be right there with Derrick Brown and someone who falls out of the lottery as the steals of the draft. I would pick Harris the second the 31st pick is on the clock.

billykParticipantPaul Harris: cant shoot, cant pass, and cant dribble….
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/01/2009 - 7:14pm #155463
eprizzle14ParticipantDerrick Brown is a waaay better prospect IMO. Paul is 6’4 isnt a freak athlete, good strength, not a great shooter and he cant gaurd a good NBA 2. PJ Tucker is better then that guy. mid second – undrafted

mmichnowicz1ParticipantDunking is overated. How mnay players can just dunk the ball as their skill. Only dwight Howard, and he is a freak, and he can play D. Even he is developing some moves, if a player can not actually make a move how can they get to teh rim to dunk

Meditated StatesParticipantI don’t think he will rebound the same and the rest of his game is not good enough. Might not get drafted or will be out of the league real quick unless he pulls a jumper out of a hat.

auberParticipantA more athletic reincarnation of Dhantay Jones. A great defender, but he’s missed his time out of HS where he would have been a first round pick. He will get drafted by an NBA team because of his athletic ability and his intriguing numbers, but I think he’d be a much better NFL tight end than an NBA SG.

HueBoND 2001Participant6’5 Way more athletic than Paul Harris….Go on youtube check out were dahntay’s head is at…Im kiinda biased though I played with all these guys on the road runners AAU team.
Foye
Jones
Al Harrington
Wagner (Barely came up from camden)At that time wagner was the best player Paul Harris no way, he is an okay leaper but is very strong. Possible POOR POOR MANS RON ARTEST with a 32in vert.

JNixonParticipantPaul Harris has plenty of athleticism, strength, and competitiveness, but he cant shoot pass or dribble close to an NBA level. He was a great rebounder and I would be surprised if he has a short wingspan, which will help him play bigger. In Europe, it will help him play bigger

auberParticipantHarris shooting touch is terrible. He’s a great rebounder and defender. He will get drafted because of his athletic ability.

eprizzle14Participantthis guy isnt that athletic I mean he’s not nailed to the floor but ive seen him get hung a couple times not jumping too far outta the lane.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/02/2009 - 7:27am #155568
bryant markson1he will make the nba but im not sure about him getting drafted..he actually can guard 2 guards never had to in college because he is a great rebounder and syracuse plays zone most of the time..he could be in the mold of bruce bowen since he is strong and works har on d .bowen wasnt a great shooter at first either
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/02/2009 - 8:38am #155600
kotyParticipantHarris is not gonna b good. He has absolutely no jump shot, can’t hit lay ups (remember the UCONN game?) and is VERY undersized. All he is is strong, above average athletically, and a good dunker
D-League player

Stanford hoopsParticipantwhich is exactly what bowon and arezia were

bryant markson1i can name alot of players currently in the nba that fit the same profile he just gave…if the gms agreed with him he wouldnt be getting second workout invites

D HampParticipantAs a die hard, yet objective Orange fan, here’s the truth about Paul Harris. He’s 6 foot 4 and a lockdown defended. Baby Ron Artest. He’s also a physical specimen. A freak athlete. I sometimes think he picked the wrong sport and should have been a tightend in foot ball. He can dribble and pass.
But he can’t shoot, even if his life depended on it. And he’s very undersized, eventhough he’s the best small forward rebounder since Quentin Richardson.
He should have been a senior this year because he played a year of prep basketball. Most people thought Flynn, his high school point guard would help him and he did. But not enough.
He’s also the poster boy for high schoolers declaring for the draft. If he could have, he was gone.D Hamp…the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.

HaleParticipantAriza is a tremendous athlete and is much quicker then Paul Harris, with a much better jump shot at the time, that is a bad comparison.

Stanford hoopsParticipantim not comparing there skill level nor there athleticism( even though you should probably check the combine results before saying hes a better athlete..you’ll be suprised)..im saying if trevor can get a better jumper theres no reason paul cant seeing as he is a very hard worker and ariza used to have just as bad as a jumper..

HaleParticipantGood point.

315ParticipantHarris is a beast on the defensive end and a hustle player that could be valuable coming off the bench for most teams

iguapops420ParticipantGood athlete. Freak? Not with that height and vertical. Poor jumpshot. Hassan Adams clone. Given i don’t know about his work ethic, but if good, he could at best mold himself into a Ruben Patterson or a smaller Devean George.
As fr the difference between he and Ariza is age and the fact that ariza already had a fair handle and passing game as his favorite players ever were the more versatile players i.e Grant Hill, Scottie Pippen, and Penny Hardaway. He broke his foot last year landing on either Fisher or Odom’s foot in practice therefore using his time off to work on jumpshooting with Craig Hodges one of the best shooters in NBA history. Also, Ariz’a work ethic is quite pleasing. Three years into his collegiate career and the weaknesses that held him back as a freshman are the same weaknesses holding him out of being top notch.

btownkidJohn bryant averages 14 rebounds he is way better than paul harrie who gets eight
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 7:13pm #157360
iguapops420ParticipantTerrible comparison.^
Short, overweight, unathletic center compared to a short, strong,athletic guard -forward?…wtf lol.0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 7:16pm #157365
knicksfreakParticipantHes not gonna make it in the league when better players like DJ Strawberry cant even keep a roster spot.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 7:42pm #157399
iguapops420ParticipantKnicksfreak…DJ was the exact person i had been thinking about the whole time reading this post. Seems you and i have a lot in common when i comes to the draft.

Stanford hoopsParticipanthold on..ive watched arezia on and off since hs and he didnt have good handle..he still doesnt have that good of handles ancd his jumper used to be awful..so my comparision about paul getting better at those things just like arezia is very valid..reread the originally post ..in there it says nothign about them being alike other then pauls development could be similar..so the bringing up the age has zero barring
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/06/2009 - 9:24am #157610
iguapops420ParticipantTo start Trevor Ariza has always had a nice Handle. He’s not a flashy ballhandler by any means, but he dribbles with his head up, and slashes through defenses/change of direction/hesitaion moves. Something not even Lebron James is able to do and let’s get real. He’s like point in a powerforwards body. And the age factor has much bearing on the situation as Ariza has proven since he came into the league that he’s a dedicated ballplayer with drive and work ethic. Again, i say, Harris had what weaknesses coming into college, and what weaknesses now?…and that biggest weakness is a jumpshot. Clearly showing a poor work ethic. Is he athletic enough to d up as an undersized forward/guard? Maybe.
Can he make a layup or jumper..unfortunately, no..another case of an athlete playing basketball for thefat he’s an athlete, therefore always lacking the esire to become great. Eerily similar to DJ Strawberry who had similar measurments athletic results overall game. Yet even Strawberry could shoot a little and handle a much nicer half court handle. All that kept him out was his desire. 3years ago, i would have indulgd in this and talkd about the fact that he was gonna be alittle Ruben Patterson unfortunately he never developed the way he should have. So why does nobody talk about Paul Harris? Because he sucks. Case Closed.0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/05/2009 - 10:59pm #196782
