Mr.Knick 32ParticipantHe probably has a guarantee in the top 11 picks. I heard New Orleans is really high on him.

JNixonParticipantYea I think he’s going to the Hornets as well.

grizz32ParticipantStill ticks me off. I am sick of players not wanting to workout for the grizz.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantWho didn’t work out for Memphis beside George?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/13/2010 - 9:46am #331555
grizz32ParticipantNot this year but Rubio didn’t want to come here. There were rumors Thabeet didn’t work out for us for a reason. Even Mayo did not come

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantBecause honestly, Memphis is not a super great place to workout at from what I heard.
Memphis has a super awesome stadium but I don’t think the city is somewhere NBA players want to call home.

JazzinSLCParticipantAnd were picking number 9. Everybody else in our draft range has come in for workouts except him (and Ed Davis…but I hear he’s coming in later). He might have a promise as early as 8 to the Clippers. Who knows? Maybe he’s getting bad advice from his agent if not.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantYeah, I heard that too. I’m kind of bummed out about it because I think he would be a decent fit on the Grizzlies if Gay bolts to a different team this summer. But like someone already said, I think he has a guarantee earlier in the lottery.

JazzinSLCParticipantLOL

Forte IVParticipantI’d like to see him go there.

JNixonParticipantI don’t know why they don’t like Memphis…Memphis has GREAT food, and girls too.

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantPaul George should not even be a lottery pick to me, he is a first round player but I just can’t see all this “potential” he is being labeled with, he played in a weak conference, didn’t put up particularly well numbers even in a weak conference, did not shoot statistically well really and did not help his team out a whole lot, to me he can help a team out in a bench role but I do not really see him really making a huge difference.

grizz32ParticipantI would be perfectly fine with Luke Babbitt if George does have a promise

Raef LaFrentzParticipantGive the kid a chance. He just turned 20 years old, and in his workouts against Harangody, Damion James, among others, he seemed to outperform them without exerting a ton of effort. However, effort and want-to could be this guys biggest concern. Has he understood his potential yet? And does he truly want to be a great player? Once those 2 questions have been answered with yes’s, I really don’t see a situation in which George isn’t an All-Star 3-4 years down the road.

Captain LParticipantI really like George’s skill set and abilities, to me he has lottery potential, but if he is going to be irresponsible, that raises a big red flag for me. I have narrowed down the picks I would like to see the Jazz take to Udoh, Monroe, Patterson, Babbitt & George but if he is going to be a head case , he can go play for someone else. Maybe he has a good explanation but I’d want to hear it before I move forward with him.

duhrant35ParticipantI think his upside is Danny Granger and his bust potential is similar to Gerald Green. Any thoughts?

kaceyParticipantPaul George going to the Hornets isn’t that likely. He hasn’t worked out with them. The Hornets had a workout today featuring Gordon Hayward, James Anderson, Xavier Henry, Dominique Jones, Aubrey Coleman and Dwight Lewis. George easily would have been working out with that group if the Hornets wanted a look at him.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantI like the ceiling/floor comparisons of Granger/Green. George’s jumper is a thing of beauty, and his mid-range game is really showing a lot of promise. Athletically, I think he is a step above Granger and a step below Green, but not by much. George seems to glide rather than explode athletically, but is a great athlete nonetheless.
