nae21915ParticipantI am a huge college basketball fan as well as NBA, this is my first post and just wanted to get a few of opinions about these two players Patrick Patterson and Evan Turner. I am the type of person that when I play my video games I like to play with young talent and Love to use the draft to build up my franchises. SO now to the topic.
I am just wondering why Patrick Patterson isn’t getting any love. He’s putting up big numbers offensivly and defensivly, I understand that size is huge in the nba, but his stature seperates himself from so many and can provide solid help for any team he’s drafted by. He’s a more talented tyrus thomas in my opinion. He doesn’t have the same exact up’s as him but damn close to it. Just give me your opinions and where would you draft him. I personally would draft him in the lottery.
Evan Turner-I know he is just now coming on the seen for this years draft this season because he has completly raised his level of play. I understand that he doesn’t do anything spectacular like alot of high draft picks but he does all the little things above average. And he’s a tierless worker. If he were to come out this year where would you all draft him? I’m not saying i would draft him in the lottery but defiantly in the 20’s of the first round. Just looking for some insight..0 - Posted on: Thu, 01/22/2009 - 1:47pm #141149
shangrilaParticipantShooting is what holds them back I think. It’s not a major point and both are lottery picks (Turner in 2010 on most mocks) but right now they don’t have a reliable jumpshot. When Patterson develops an 18 foot jumpshot to compensate for his size and Turner increases his range out to the NBA 3pt line they’ll both be dangerous players.

Rock_Cat78ParticipantHave you guys even watched Patterson this year? He hadn’t made a 3 in his career and this year he’s made nearly one per game on avg. He has developed a very reliable jump shot. He actually hasn’t scored nearly as much in the paint this year due to Cousins operating there.

kaceyParticipantPatterson has been knocking down jumpers and threes pretty consistenly all year long. His jumper hasn’t been as wet since the start of the SEC tourney, but he has definitely helped his stock by working on that jumper.

QUINCEYso true that if he gets a reliable jumper he is a high pick. liek i said read the dates on post before saying anythign so you dont seem clueless

Rock_Cat78ParticipantEven looking at that date, by the Patterson was proving he could make the perimeter jumper starting at the beginning of this season and he was already right around the Top Ten in the mocks even then. The date you are speaking of is pretty irrelevant.
