I just read on collegehoopsupdate.com that his nba comparison is Paul Milsap with a jump shot. Do you guys agree?

Millsap doesn’t shoot as well as Patterson, Patterson’s game really evolved this year being able to stretch defenders out to 20 ft. and knock shots down.

Patrick Patterson will surprise a lot of people who forgot how good he was and is. he may actually measure out taller than Elton Brand who is not seen as a undersized power forward.

Sheltwon, what are talking about? Patterson is 6’8 and thats it. Not taller, but maybe a little smaller.
The comparison to Paul Millsap is accurate. Both work hard, both are undersized, and both can grab a ton of rebounds. Millsap gets more, but I think Patterson has the potential to get as many boards as Millsap does. Also Patterson is a better shooter then Millsap is. So yes, Patterson is Paul Millsap, but a better shooter.
butidonthavemoney, I have never seen Millsap shoot and make jumper outside of 20ft. And this is coming from someone who has watched the Jazz all year. But Patterson I know he can make 20ft jumpers. He can even shoot threes, but is not very accurate from 3pt range.

Im not a big fan of Patterson. I don’t believe he’s lottery talent, but thats just my opinion. He reminds me a lot of Tyler Hansbrough now that he’s got a jump shot. Anyone else see that?

Patterson reminds me a bit of David West, not quite as big, but if he sticks with it and really works to improve (I think he will) he has a David West type ceiling.
