I wouldn’t be surprised if Beverly takes the starting job over Lin. Such a pitbull on the court.

Overall the Pelicans backcourt was super-deissapointing the first game: Jrue looked awful, Gordon didn’t play and Evans got injured almost right away.
    Though Morrow looked really good.

In my opinion, Patrick Beverly is one of the top 10 defensive point guards in the NBA. He’s a backup, but I’d challenge anyone to name 10 better defenders at the PG position. It took him longer than I thought to hit the league, but he’s making his mark early into his NBA career.

russell westbrook is still having nightmares about patrick beverley

he can throw him in the top defenders in the league conversation .you can tell he’s hungry when he’s out there.i like him off the bench for the rockets.he found his niche in the nba.

PatBev is the perfect compliment for Harden. An off-ball shooter that plays tough on-ball defense. I think he’s going to take the starting job from Lin, which is better for the Rockets to bring him off the bench to play with either Harden or Beverly as well as command the second unit and have more ability to score at will.

All he needs to do on offense is spot up and knock down threes off of double-teams on Howard/Harden. And since Beverly is an off-ball PG, Harden can go back to play his natural on-ball SG position that he can’t really play with Lin. On defense, he has to play tough on-ball defense on the Pauls, Parkers, Westbrooks, and Currys of the Western Conference.

His game is perfect for the Rockets.
