Pascal Siakam likely wont win the MIP this year because his statistical output may not reflect as much overall production as a guy like Zach Lavine (25-ppg) or Deaaron Fox (19-ppg, 7-apg) but he clearly has improved the most out of any player in the NBA.

Siakam has had an incredibly consistent 10 game stretch in which he has scored in double digits every game with only one game less than 16 points. Over this 10 game stretch he has averaged 17.8 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.6 spg, and 0.5 bpg at 66% FG and 80% FT. Hes also a nightmare defensively able to gaurd anyone on the floor most of the time and he is hitting his 3’s but at a low rate for now. Last year he averaged 7 ppg and 5 rpg at much lower percentages.

After earning Eastern conference player of the week it seems that teams are starating to gameplan for him, which leads me to believe his stats will not be as high as the season continues but he just continues to improve and works harder than anyone on the floor. The guy never ever runs out of energy its quite fun to watch.

Pascal is one of the most intriguing players in the league and for those who havent quite taken notice on his emergence I urge you to check out some of his highlights as his game is refreshing. Wish someone would make a vid of his defensive highlights to.

As far as the award it will probably go to Derrick Rose even know he hasnt really improved his game as much as improved his playing time but this guy Siakam truly deserves some recognition.

He’s really good actually, I agree. Massive improvement and room for much more. They’ve done a good job, the Raptors, h’es been well developed to date. He’s looking for confident offensively. He had a nice spin move and showed some footwork against Boston, his 3 ball and passing are also coming along. they’ve obviously got a strong squad this year but its still underrated. Ibaka, Siakam, Kawhi, OG and JV is as good a 5 man front court rotation as there is for mine, simply Kawhi is that good he’s pushed them over the top. Its a well balanced unit. Danny Green has been playing well but if they just one more weapon at guard, I think they’d be a finals lock and maybe even take some games off GSW. Lowry, Green, VanVleet and Wright are still good players, but they’ll need to overachieved, and any injuries will hurt significantly.

Also I admit I was furious when Masai took this guy instead of Skal and boy did I look foolish. Siakam is the perfect big for the modern offense. Shows how much of a great mind Masai is.

Made this post completely forgeting about Montrezl Harrell.

At the beggining of the year Harrell said to his coach and the media that his goal is to win the MIP (thats why I targeted him up in fantasy drafts) and he is on the right track. 15-ppg 7 rpg 1.5 apg 1 spg and 2 bpg playing only 24 minutes a game. Seems the Boban Marjanovic sideshow has slowed down and they are now focusing on giving Harrell bigtime minutes. Hes won a handful of games for them including tonight shooting 15-18 from the free throw line with 5 steals.

Favourite player in the league right now.
