SwaggyQ3ParticipantYou may or may not like my list, but these are the 5 guys I think are overrated, and then the 5 i think are underrated
Overrated
J.R Smith: Hands up Dont shoot would be nice once in awhile JR
Greg Monroe: He onced pissed himself and got a DUI. Not why hes overrated though I just that was funny
Rajon Rondo: Duh. This one is obvious. Kings would throw money at him, but they would throw money at Kwame brown probably
Enes Kanter: First time i heard his name, thought it was Anus Cancer. But it wasnt. He plays nice defense. jk. its horrible
Omer Asik: I swear hes been a free agent since he was born,
Underrated
Khris Middleton: Young, yet good. Max deal. Not yet. Still underrated tho. Stay In The Mil.
Tobais Harris: Leave Orlando, You can do so much better else where my friend
Jae Crowder: Ex Juco player. Dont see that very often in the NBA(Jimmy Butler another one
Demarre Carroll: I remember when I thought his leg fell off in the playoffs. but he kinda overreacted He played the next game…he also plays good basketball
EDWARD DAVIS: i dont know if his full name is edward. but he hasnt lived up to full potenial. but hes getting there.

Anton123ParticipantI think there are some big men that can help a lot of teams and I’ve heard nothing said about them so far: Robin Lopez, Kosta Koufos, Brandan Wright, Kevin Seraphin, Brandon Bass, Jordan Hill, Ed Davis, Amir Johnson, Andray Blatche, Alexis Ajinca, Bismack Biyombo.
Obviously these players aren’t anything terrific, but not often are there so many rotation bigs available. I think the overall depth of this year’s big men free agents is being underrated.

Lotto StudParticipantAmir Johnson will be another steal but he comes with a caution tag. During the playoffs Tyler Hansbrough stole most of his minutes as well as Patrick Patterson (Need insight here Raptor fans). Johnson is very solid and a good player within the paint. I remember the days to where he was a pretty damn good athlete coming out of high school; time has changed for his frame of work as being a banger on the block.

Bed HeadParticipantAnd I think I’ll just leave it at that, actually.
Though I must confess I’m quite curious what this post’s point differential is going to look like by the end of the day.

Stop_basketball_nonsenseParticipantTo swaggy_ first thing I want to say is I agree with Middleton, Carroll, Davis who I think if a team needed a defensive post player as Orlando needs beside vuvevic he could be that guy. You take on Smith & kanter is an opinion you are entitled to but I’m not sure I have ever heard or thought myself of those guys highly in the 1st place.
Next what I completely disagree on. Monroe out of playets 25& under is a top 5 post player. He isn’t a good shotblocker but not as horrible as people make him out.
Harris averaged 17pts.pergame & 2assists. His shooting % is to mediocre to justify only 2assists per game.
Asiek is one of the best combos of defense &rebounding.
Crowder who i like still put up decent number on a celtics team that if you go by records was really only the17th or18th best team either or with the suns in my opinion.
Rondo! Come on bruh? He had to share the responsibility of running the mavs offense with monte. Monte drives to the lane kicks it out to rondo, whose not a good perimeter shooter, & vice versa. Rondos assists, & shooting percentages fall off from being forced to take perimeter shots along with playing off the ball. This is me assuming you are judging him off this past year, which is the only idea that makes sense to me given his past production.

Stop_basketball_nonsenseParticipantAdded to my previous post monroe had to play with j.smith the last year & a third of yhis year, stunting the extent of his stats& confidence in detroit’ ability to put together a progressive team. He is also a top 30-40 player in the league in my opinion depending on you criteria.
Also I meant to say ( I like crowder but he only put up stats with average % on the celts. Thank you for taking the time to tie my full post together.

Aminu- This one is tricky. I think he’s going to get over paid, but if a team uses him right than he might be worth it. He’s a big dude, can shoot it, rebounds very well, and is a decent defender. I could see him being a good starter on a team that already has a ton of offensive fire power.
Brandon Bass- Good versatile defender, athletic, scrapper, and has that mid-range down pat. I don’t see why he can’t do what Speights did this year for GSW, and think he would excel in that role. I never did understand why ORL never played him and Dwight together more often.
Mo Williams- Still has a lot of game left, and could be a great addition to any contenders bench. Has the ability to run a team, and still put up points. His ability to play off the ball would also benefit many teams in this league.
Kosta Koufas- Was a servicable starter for Denver, and played great coming off the bench for MEM. He’s grown a lot as a player physically and mentally over the years, and I could see him being a very solid starter for a team in need of a center (You listening, Danny Ainge?)
Luc Richard Mhab a moute- He’s a smart player with a lot of versatillity. He plays good defense, and can guard the 2, 3, and 4 position. I love him on a contending team coming off the bench. Clippers/Cavs/OKC would be perfect
Over rated:
David West- Teams will be disapointed if they think they are getting a player that can push the needle. At this point West should only be going to a contending team that needs toughness and leadership. A team like WAS for example would be perfect.
Asik- His defense is over rated from the eye-test, and his lack of offensive game kills his team. We’ve never seen him play on a team that wasn’t stacked with big men, so maybe I’m wrong. I like him as a defensive body off the bench at this point in his career, but think a team will sign him to be their starting center…and regret it.
Danny Green- Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Danny Green, but he’s a system player through and through, and if he goes to a team that doesn’t have a system in place than I think we will see him fall off greatly. He can’t create for himself, so he’s going to have to go to a team that has playmakers and other shooters to help take the pressure off of him. If he were to go to a team like the Sixers or Hornets for example, he would look underwhelming, but if he went to a team like the Celtics or Hawks…he would be deadly.

TrillaParticipantI think Brandon Wright is fairly underrated. Really efficient in Dallas but was forced to play a bit part after moving.

Lotto StudParticipantHe’s been one of my favorites for years. It’s amazing how he is overshadowed by the Anthony Randolphs & Marvin Williams’ of the sports world. Brandan Wright deserves a decent pay. Nothing outlandish but something secure for a roster placement to make a difference for a team such as the New York Knicks or someone in the sense of rebuilding.

r377ParticipantAlexis Ajinca, Ed Davis, Corey Brewer, Aminu played well for Mavs late last season. Brandan Wright, T-Rob, Mo Williams. All guys are not studs, but 6-7th options or “glue guys” that come in and contribute more than what their stats suggest….You could prob get 4 of these guys for about the same $$ as Love would get on the open market……Will Barton is a restricted FA, I think the Nuggs should keep him.
I would really like my pistons to look at Corey Brewer if they cannot get Middleton or Carroll…..Mo Williams would be great in GS.
Overrated – Why has no one suggested Kevin Love ? Lacks defense, leadership and is injury prone. He is not worth the $20 mill that he will probably get.
Monta Ellis – (overrated by himself) Opted out of a $8.7mill option with the Mavs. I think the league has caught on to him and his empty stats not really helping a team win. I don’t know what team will give him much more than that
Dwayne Wade – wants a big pay day from the heat. Sure he prob deserves $$ for bringing in Lebron and Bosh but if I am running a team there is no way I would pay him anymore than $24 for 3 yrs. The guy was a great player but now just had too many miles and is a injury risk.
Broken Lopez – I read somewhere about 3 yrs for $60mill. This is crazy, guy is injury prone and poor rebounder.
Tobias Harris – can score, not much else. $10 mill is fair but is he gets $15-20 then this is too much
Wes Matthews – Is looking for $15 mill per. Coming off surgery
Kancer – anymore than the suggested $8-12mill is just too much

Rip255Lol you’re gonna low-ball D-Wade with 8m per year?
You’re even grimier than Bill Lambeer

r377ParticipantWade deserves to get paid from the heat for what he has done for them. He turned down $16mill from the Heat, does he deserve to get that from another team ? No way, not even close.
If I was a GM I wouldn’t even consider anything more than 3 yrs @ $8mill. Paying him $12+ mill might work well for you on 2k but not in the real world. The guy barely even plays 50-60 games per season and will be turning 34 during the season. How productive do you reckon he will be when he is 37 or 39 ?
I wouldn’t have paid big contracts to Melo, Brand, Boozer, Bynum, JJ, Amare, Arenas, Baron Davis or D-Williams but what do I know…..
P.S Dirk takes home $8mill per year.

sitlbitoParticipantOverrated:
-Tobias Harris:Ball stopper, avaeraged good number on a bad team
-Greg Monroe:Same thing as Harris, his team was better when Tolliver was playing instead of him.
-Rajon Rondo:One of the worst starting point guards last year,Boston was better when he was on the bench, and won more games once he left,Dallas was better before he arrived, and was better when he wasn’t there. Enough said.
Underrated:
-Kosta Koufos:Terrific rebounder and defender, could help any time as he’s a smart player as well.
-Al-Farouq Aminu:Terrific defender,extremely long,and added a 3 point shot last year.
-Alan Anderson:Could be a 3 and D for a contending team,very experienced,good locker room presence as well.
-Marco Bellinelli:-you can’t have enough shooting
-Robin Lopez:Solid rim protector/rebounder,I’d rather have him than his brother on my team.

Lopez – Very good rebounder and defender. Plays with a lot of heart. He can knock down a mid range shot too.
Bass – Hard nosed player and really good mid range shooter.
