JM40ParticipantI’ve been keeping an eye on the NBA MVP race, All-Star selections, etc. and I’ve been surprised to learn of how many current NBA stars were greatly overlooked as legit NBA prospects. Here’s a short list to name a few;
1 Kyle Lowry
2 Jimmy Butler
3 Jeff Teague
4 Marc Gasol
5 Paul Millsap
6 Wes Matthews
7 Nikola VucevicCan anyone else think of upper-tier NBA players who were fringe draft prospects???

ChrispyParticipantI mean, traded for Tractor Traylor for God`s sake… Or how about Earl Boykins? I know he is out of the L now, but who would`ve seen a 14 career ahead of him (I sure thought he would last, just not that long!)…And the great Robert Swift…oh, never mind.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantTyreke Evans was the 4th pick in the 2009 draft. I definitely wouldn’t say he was overlooked as a prospect.

sitlbitoParticipantThe Atlanta hawks!!
Korver,Scott,Millsap,Bazemore,Antic,Caroll,Muscala,Mack are second rounders or undrafted. Pretty crazy.
As for the other teams,I’d say what about Kris Middleton,36th pick in 2012,just put up 25 points in Toronto,having a solid season in the 6th best team in the east. I think we still don’t walue enough guys that are able to adapt to any coach/system and play within their roles.0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/03/2015 - 3:13am #964821

kdtriv01ParticipantIf you want to be technical, Cousins should have been the 2nd pick in the draft, so a little overlooked.

jalliParticipantIf you take away the ridiculous expectations dude has done very well for himself for a player who was not supposed to be in the league. He was overlooked at every level of basketball from AAU to the NBA.
