r377ParticipantGetting thumped by 30+ points vs the Hawks. They are headed for the lottery and I believe will start tanking by giving their younger players a stack of minutes.
2011 Cleveland lose lebron and get the no1 pick
2012 New Orleans lose Chris Paul and get the no1 pick
2013 Orlando lose Dwight Howard……………Do you think Stern will give them the no1 pick ?

frogmanParticipantEnough with this crap about Stern handing out number one picks to who he chooses. It doesn’t happen, if it did someone would have exposed it by now. Stop.

Beard13ParticipantI have a feeling we are going to end up with Muhammad. 3rd or 4th pick

kingofbumsParticipantFOR SURE ITS GOING THERE. either them or to the “supersonics”…he prob made a deal with the new buyer that if they buy the team they get the pick…oh yeah…just like the deal he made with the new owner of the New Orleans pelicans

RafterParticipantWatching that Hawks game, I was thinking a guy like Shabazz Muhammad would’ve been exactly what they needed, a scorer. Their young and exciting front court got simply abused out there by Horford and Smith, tough lesson for Harkless, Nicholson and Vucevic to take, all star weekend is a welcomed distraction and it gives those guys time to recover. A game in a day or so after that defeat would’ve been brutal for them, people say tanking/blowout losses are easy but the mental impact and the impression it gives to paying fans, doesn’t really make it an appealing option especially given that there isn’t a can’t miss prospect in the upcoming draft.

festar35ParticipantThey could have a good future in Orlando. They have Vucevic, Nicholson and Harkless who will all take time, but could be pretty good. Not to mention some veteran leadership in Afflalo who is very underrated as a player. If they can get a solid PG prospect in the draft or via trade (JJ Redick anyone) they will have a very solid team.
If they make the right decisions they could build a team like Indiana or Memphis with late lottery picks and building a team first mentality.
