     Heat Starting 5

    PG: Dragic
    SG: Wade
    SF: Deng
    PF: Bosh
    C: Whiteside

    Wizards Starting 5

    PG: Wall
    SG: Beal
    SF: Porter
    PF: Dudley
    C: Gortat

Heat’s starting lineup is a sure thing as they bring along Winslow slowly. Wizards plan to play small ball so I put Dudley at the 4 instead of Nene.

I HOPE the starting line up for opening day will be

    Pg- Jackson

    Sg- KCP

    Sf- Johnson

    Pf- Morris

    C- Drummond

That is the perfect line up what Van Gundy wants to do (he loves that 4 out 1 in). However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they brought Stanley Johnson along slowly and started Ilysova. He’s a solid stretch 4 man.

I think Ilyasova is slighty better suited for the 4 position than Morris because of defense and 3 point accuracy but I’m with you on Johnson. Hopefully he EARNS a starting role sooner than later.

I wonder if it’s Jackson’s spot to lose or would he have to beat out Brandon Jennings for the spot.

It’s Jackson’s to lose no doubt. They’ve invested too much in him. Depending on how he returns from his achilles injury, I imagine Jenning’s name will be one of the most tossed around come the trade deadline.

The Illadelphia ’76ers 2015 starting lineup:

1 – Tony Wroten Not regarded as an elite PG, but anyone here is a placeholder until the 2017 draft when there will be PGs aplenty coming out of college.

2- Hollis Thompson  6’8" and shoots 40% from long range on 4 attempts per game.  Better than Stauskas and he’s just as fast and much stronger.

3- Jerami Grant Continues to improve and this year should show continued improvement, but nothing spectacular.

4- Robert Covington Unheralded PF who shoots 37% from long range on 6 attempts per game but doesn’t add much in terms of defense

5- Nerlens Noel – Only starter who is a star.  Hopefully he stays healthy long enough to see the rebuilding process completed.

It’s kind of weird that Sam Hinke is one of the biggest believers in hoarding draft picks, and 2 of the starters above were undrafted coming out of college (Hollis Thimpson, and Robert Covington).

Here is my alternate starting five if I were running things:

    1.  Tony Wroten

    2.  Nik Stauskas

    3. Jerami Grant

    4. Nerlens Noel

    5. Jahlil Okafor

The guys at 1-4 can run a fast transition game, but Okafor at the 5 position gives better offense in the blocks, and Noel will provide enough D for both the 4 and 5 position.  Also, Noel at the 4 frees him up from having to bang with guys who are bigger and slower.  Plus, the Sixers need to field a team that casual fans of the game can actually recognize.  Fielding a no-name team that gets dominated all season long is very bad for fan morale.  If we (the fans) are going to have to suffer through the losses, at least do it with some flavor.  Damn!

I think randle will eventually be the starter at pf but I could see them starting Brandon bass to start the season. Randle looked rusty in summer league and might need some time to adjust to the NBA game, especially after not playing for a year. I believe he will take over the starting role at some point this season, but bass is a proven veteran who will probably give them a better chance to win games right now.

I don’t think pek will be ready for awhile and kg will keep his spot.  I think it will be rubio, martin, wiggins, kg, towns. Martin was really good last year when he played.  It will just be nice to not have d league guys playing huge minutes.

If I were them, I would strongly consider rolling out Kanter with Ibaka, that way Ibaka could help cover for Kanter on D and Adams can help for McGary. Having Kanter and McGary come in at the same time will be a dunkfest for the other team

     Celtics,

    Isaiah

    Smart

    Crowder

    Amir Johnson

    Olynyk

Isaiah, Crowder, and Olynyk were an elite bench trio last year. I think they might all get promoted to the starting lineup. Jerebko was the fourth guy who dominated with that bench big 3, and I think he’s a sleeper for starting consideration as well. Either replacing Crowder, Amir, or KO.

Celtics run 16 deep though, so the combinations are endless.

So Harrell is going to outplay both Motiejunas and Terrence Jones for the starting power forward spot next to Dwight? Harrell isn’t close to being as good as either of those now or even when those two were the same age as him. I like Harrell as a player, but he’s getting garbage minutes this year. More likely seeing him being the backup center (due to his length) than the starting 4. Also, with a team with Dwight Howard, you need something called spacing. Harrell doesn’t have that. Motie and Jones due.

I’m a big fan of spacing, and it’s why I think the Bucks are overrated.

But Harrell has a solid enough mid-range jump shot that I think Howard/Harrell can be somewhat like the Clippers with Jordan and Griffin, spacing wise.

Harrell is just really explosive and powerful, and his standing reach is 3" higher than the average nba power forward, and he leaps as well as any of them. Like a PF version of Dwight almost, with a 18 ft jump shot.

Dwight Howard hit a 3 once, so I wouldn’t say he’s Howard with a jumper.

    – Brewer, Beverley, T.Jones and Capela in the rotation.
    – Dekker, McDaniels, Terry, Thornton and Harrell all capable of getting in the rotation if the opportunity arises

I truly think Turner will earn this spot during training camp, Vogel isn’t afraid to start rookies, he put PG straight in when he took over. I like the idea of George at the 4 in spurts, but not starting there and I think J.Hill will be a solid contributor especially as a re-bounder.

I would love to see Millsap attempt to guard other 3’s. I say that sarcastically. He’s a very fluid 4, but by no means a 3. He needs to keep his a$$ inside the 3 point line.

Middleton has shot 41 from 3pt land over the last 2 seasons on 4 attempts a game, Jabari will show much improved % from deep over a full season after putting up 25% in his shortened season and theyve got a sniper in OJ Mayo coming off the bench along with Jeryd Bayless. Bucks spacing will be fine, its not like they are going to be playing all these guys 40 mins a night, their rotations are very fluid

Sounds like the Pistons last year. Spacing off the bench, they’ll be fine.

Somebody’s going to have to take those wide open 3s, so let’s hope Jabari shoots it better than Josh Smith.

Because again, somebody’s going to need to take those wide open 3s. That’s not optional.

Opening Day Lineup (w/ stat predictions)

PG- Lillard: No explanation needed. 24ppg/6apg/4rpg (most likely on lower than usual percentages)

SG- Henderson: Most experience out of all the wing players, solid defender, could give us 15-17 ppg since Lillard is the only other real scoring threat 16ppg/3 apg/5rpg

SF- Aminu: Defense and athleticism 9ppg/2apg/7rpg/1spg/1bpg

PF- Leonard: I think they’ll go Leonard here at PF over Davis to give the starting lineup another shooting threat. Outside of maybe Henderson, there’s no one else to stretch the floor and give Lillard lanes to the hoop 14ppg/2apg/8rpg/1bpg

C- Plumlee: Rebounding, defense, athleticism. I think he could average close to a double double given the opportunity. 10ppg/9rpg/1apg/1.5bpg

It’ll be interesting to see how the lineup will evolve throughout the season, especially with a more than capable big man like Davis who could step in in case Leonard’s shooting was a fluke last season and he flops as a starter. There’s also McCollum to take into consideration, but I think he’s more suited as their go to guard off the bench as him and Lillard would give up a lot of points on defense. Vonleh could be an X-factor off the bench also, it’ll be interesting to see him grow this season. But unless he REALLY surprises us and goes off at some point in the season, I don’t see him starting until next season.

The team has a lot of quality big men, but I think Stotts will go with the inside-out combo of Leonard and Plumlee until someone else rises above the others. Leonard and Plumlee just seem like a combo that can play off eachother’s strengths and hide eachother’s weaknesses.

This should be the starting lineup:

    PG: Lowry

    SG: DeRozan

    SF: Carroll

PF: Patterson (over Scola for spacing and defense. Plus I’m a big Patman fan)

    C: Valanciunas

There is a chance they go small with Carroll at the 4, but I think this will be their best lineup to start with.

Yeah, I thought people might say that with how Scola has been playing in the FIBA tournament. And as I do respect his game, he isn’t playing against a whole lot of competition there. Also, Casey really likes his spacing and defense, and Scola lacks in both of those categories. Plus PatPat has experience with the rest of the team with Scola being the newbie. It will also be nice having Scola being the first option with the second unit which will take pressure off the young guys. I see Scola being the first big off the bench replacing either Patterson or Valanciunas.

It seems like a lot of people are going with what they feel should be their teams starting lineups, and not what they actually will be. For example, there is no way a rookie Julious Randle is going to start over Brandon Bass on opening night, and there is no way Illyasova isn’t the starting 4 in DET. They traded for the guy just for that reason.

To be honest, I have a weird perception of the Celtics this year, and think they should go big or go home. Start:

    Rozier

    Smart

    Crowder

    Johnson

    Olynyk

And just go balls out with suffocating defense, and hope that one of Olynyk or Smart can become a consistent 14ppg scorer. The bench would come in and be a little too much for some teams, and that’s their best shot at winning. IT, Lee, Zeller, Sully, Turner off the bench is just potent.

But, sadly, I don’t think we see a change to the starting lineup to begin the season except Johnson for Sully. The team will be starting

    Turner

    Bradley

    Smart

    Johnson

    Zeller

    on opening night.

If they go young Payton Oladipo Harris Gordon Vucevic, or if they go with veteran Payton Oladipo Harris Frye Vucevic.

NOP if they go speed and ball handling and offense Holiday Gordon Evans Anderson Davis, If they go traditional Holiday Gordon Evans Davis Asik or go Big Holiday Evans Anderson Davis Asik

Bucks MCW Middleton Giannis Bari Monroe, to me Middleton starts because of his length and defense, Mayo’s defense is also good but his length is a little small for the 2 spot. they’ll use him as a 6th man.

Even though everyone has been knocking us saying that we lost pierce he didnt make that much of a difference overall all he did was make clutch shots (which im not saying is worthless) but what im trying to say is that people act like pierce was the best player on the team last year, which he wasnt, maybe thrid behind wall and gortat

anyway with that being said heres my lineup for the wizards with projected stats:

    Pg:John wall 20ppg,11apg,5rpg,2.5spg,0.8bpg

    Sg: Bradley Beal 21ppg,4apg,4rpg,1spg,0.41%3pt

Pf: Drew gooden (if dudley wasnt injured he would be here and i know they’ll probably start nene but i can dream dammit!) 8ppg,6rpg,1bpg,0.38%3pt

Never thought I’d hear the day someone was dreaming of starting Drew Gooden…

I think the Lakers are gonna start Bass too, at least at the beginning.

I really want to see how Anthony Brown does in training camp and preseason, he’s 22 so he might already be able to start at that weak SF spot and play 20 minutes as a 3 and D player while the ball is mostly in Clarkson’s and Kobe’s hands.

So here’s how I think it should be: Clarkson / Bryant / Brown / Bass / Hibbert with Russell and Randle both starting from the bench at the beginning. But I think it will be like the one lineup posted above.

As for my other favourite team (Hornets):

    Walker / Batum / MKG / Kaminsky / Jefferson

I think the Hornets are in love with Frank and will likely let him start from the beginning.

     lakers:

    pg-deangelo russell….marcelo huertas

    sg-jordan clarkson…lou williams…jaylen brown

    sf-kobe bryant…nick young…anthony brown

    pf-brandon bass…julius randle…larry nance jr

    c-hibbert…tarik black…robert sacre

Basically i think russell will only get around 24 minutes a game and then clarkson who should lead the team in minutes will play a lot of pg giving both lou williams and nick young time as the sg. Kobe will be almost exclusively at sf and nick young will get some miutes here as well since the lakers just dont have a good defensive sf to stick in there and i dont think anthony brown is ready, he got outplayed pretty soundly by jaylen brown in summer league and im not even sure anthony brown is a lock to make the team. Bass should start at pf but i see him and randle splitting minutes basically at the pf spot. Randle has tons of skills and will make a better impact on the game when he is on but he still is a weak defender and can play out of control at times and he will need to work for the starting spot which will be his in seasons going forward. Tarik black is a guy i really like, he finished last season strong and was the lakers second best summer league guy and showed really good skill development with his mid range shot and finishing around the rim to go with his all out hustle. I think he will get a good 25 minutes a night and might even play more then hibbert if hibbert struggles with fouls or just plain struggles period.

    Pacers:

    C: Ian Mahinmi

    PF: Jordan Hill

    SF: Paul George

    SG: Monta Ellis

    PG: George Hill

I’ve got Mahinmi starting the season off as the starter at center, but I think Myles Turner will be starting by the All-Star break.

With regard to the T-Wolves line up?

How will they factor in KG given that he won’t likely play some back to back games and may sit out a few road trips. He played limited minutes and sat a fair few games for the Nets over the last two years and it’s another season on.

KG is a proud man and must feel he can still do a job on court otherwise I don’t think he would have played on. He doesn’t need the money and could have been a mentor to KAT on the bench and in the lockeroom without being on the active roster.

KG is a legend especially in Minny and if he plays, I feel he deserves the respect of a start even if it is almost a ceremonial role and the younger guys soon replace him. I don’t want to see him burried down the bench and getting a few minutes here and there behind lesser guys. Also down the strech if the T-Wolves are in a tight game especially defending a small lead, you’d probably want KG on court to marshal things.

So my real query is do the T-Wolves have one line up where KG starts and plays and another where he will be a DNP-Rest. Younger players will need to learn their roles and have a set role so maybe someone who would be further down the bench than the first big off the bench starts when KG doesn’t play and that guy just goes to the end of the bench when KG is playing so the younger guys still maintain their respective roles regardless of whether KG plys or not.
